Yeah, it was really good, and the fact that I was only one of three people there made it even better. I even put my feet up.
And I'm really not being a spoil sport. £6.40 is a lot of money to shell out to go to the flicks, I feel. Fucking Vue. |

Movies are expensive these days. Though I've happily paid three times to see Hot Fuzz and will a fourth the day after tomorrow.
Yeah sometimes it's cool to have a nearly empty cinema - but I've also been enjoying crowd reactions to HF as well. It's interesting to see different bits getting different levels of laughter (or other reactions) as each different screening I go to |

See, I have bad experiences of Italian students babbling during films. Every year we get exchange students in York, and every year they'd go to the cinema and pick times when I wanted to hear the dialogue, and speak over it.
And then make like they didn't understand when you told them to keep quiet. Makes you wonder what they were doing in English language movies, really. |

QUOTE (widowspider @ Apr 1 2007, 02:15 AM) Note to self: DON'T look at spoilers before you watch a film, no matter how much you want to know what happens. I successfully resisted spoilers, but just barely. It's only a week for you now? Exciting! I pay just over that in dollars! You Brits are getting screwed. |

Oh but in that bit of the film she puts such a big emphasis on the r, something along the lines of 'check out 'is arrrrse' And if you were going to go all Nicholas Angel in their arses (personnally i prefer to say arse than ass, I dunno it's probably the donkey thing), you'd need to learn judo, because thats what Simon Pegg studied for....Hot........Fuzz........oh dear, why do I know that. |

Don't worry - I knew it too.
He says it in one of the blogs I think. Mind you I forgot and got the quiz question wrong on the Join the Fuzz site. And yeah I think "arse" works better in the film because of the lovely West-country accent with the over emphasis on the Rrrrrrrrrrrrr |

I also don't like the word "ass" as much because it's the American version. Plus, Aussies have started mixing the two up, especially when it comes to the Jackass movies. I've come across so many idiots who pronounce it "Jackarse", when that's completely wrong! A jackass (if you look it up) is a type of donkey. It has nothing to do with arses! *rant over* Feel the love. dolfyn. |
