And yay to series 6 being commissioned! Who apart from Gaiman has been confirmed to write for it? Matthew Graham has apparently been given the keys to a two-parter. Yes, that is Matthew Graham of Fear Her fame, but he also wrote for Life on Mars so hopefully his second outing will be a lot better! |

As long as they just stop with a pinch of each, that's fine. |

I think it's a case of a TV exec not knowing what the fuck he's talking about.

No, they're trying to compare him to Edward Cullen, so that bedwetting moronic tweenies will watch the show now that Tennant's not going to be on it anymore. Ah. I still think he looks more like Eric Stoltz in Mask, but that's just me. From what I've seen of the preview his style looks like it'll be much closer to Eccleston or Baker than Tennant. |

I'd go as far to say there's a little bit of Troughton in there too.

If they hadn't actually mentioned Twilight and Potter, I'd agree.

I think you're over-reacting, they're not talking about incorporating elements of Twilight and Harry Potter into Doctor Who, that's the inflection put on it by the person who wrote the article.
QUOTE "We wanted to give the look of the series a slightly more storybook, fairy-tale feel - within reason." He added: "It wasn't about suddenly becoming Tim Burton, but it was finding a pinch of that, a pinch of Twilight, a pinch of Harry Potter - but it's still absolutely, slap-bang, mainstream Doctor Who. All Wenger seems to be saying is that they want a bit of a fairy tale feel to the series, which given Moffat's stories so far isn't a huge leap. |

The music in the library 2-parter sounded a bit Harry Potter-ish.
As for previous Doctors in him, he's a bit Troughton + Davison to me, but that's just judging by small previews. |

All Wenger seems to be saying is that they want a bit of a fairy tale feel to the series, which given Moffat's stories so far isn't a huge leap. I'm not saying that Moffatt's making them like Twilight and Potter, though, check my posts. I'm saying that the exec is putting that spin on them. (Editing the quote of my post, where I accidently referenced Piers Morgan and not Piers Wenger!). This post has been edited by Raven: Mar 5 2010, 12:02 AM |

I'm not saying that Moffatt's making them like Twilight and Potter, though, check my posts. I'm saying that the exec is putting that spin on them. But he's not! Wenger mentioned some current, popular fairy tales when saying they are trying to give the new series a fairy-tale feel, he's not saying they are trying to make the show like the films he referenced! |
