Tim and Daisy
Maggie and Joel
Xander and Willow/Buffy
Andie and Duckie
Joey and Rachel
Niles and Daphne
Harry and Sally

Platonic/unrequited M/F screen relationships are almost always more entertaining. It's nice when these couples sometimes "get it on", but sometimes you like things to stay the way they were. Not sure 100% how I would feel about Time & Daisy.

Mulder and Sculy
Clark and Lana
Lois and Clark

Romantic or sexual tension quite often gives a series its emotional interest, but they pretty much always end up suffering from diminishing returns.

If they drag it out too long it becomes boring (see Clark and Lana in Smallville) and if they get the couple together it quite often signals the death nail for the show (see Lois and Clark in, err, Lois and Clark).

Most of these shows have a limited life span [try telling that to Smallville - self edit], and it makes me wonder how long Pushing Daises will be able to get away with it.

Off topic, but, if he wears a condom he can still jiggy with his dead girlfriend, right?

Or perhaps she could wear marigolds and, well, you know.

I am already annoyed by the Pushing Daisies thing. The central idea of the show is great, but that element of the premise is quite limiting, and stretches credibility even for a fantasy show.

Back to Sostie's list, I thought the episode where Xander and Willow first got it on was magic. Perhaps because their friendship was never platonic, it was a case of unrequited love. I very much empathised with Willow, and I thought their short-lived affair was brilliantly handled. The end, was gut wrenching, for all involved. Particularly (and almost literally) for Cordelia.

God, I love Buffy.

I agree with you on every point. Though in hindsight I'm glad it was a relationship that never worked out. No infidelity, no vengeance, NO ANYA ohmy.gif

Angel and Cordy too.

I prefer things if they didn't get loved up.

And if they do get loved up, something must go wrong.

Add to that list The Doctor and Rose, Giles and the witch woman whose name I've forgotten and Wesley and Fred.

What I'd love to see in a Spaced Movie if it were ever to come about would be the characters after going their separate ways over the last few years and becoming whatever they became carreer wise relationship wise etc, being thrown back together briefly due to extraordinary events.......fill in your own preferences here for the type of extraordinary event.......and battling together to overcome said events, and seeing as Spaced always used movie references and the characters themselves often thought of their own lives in cinematic terms..what would be better than them becoming enveloped in a bizzare film style reality.
I bet a lot of people after 9/11 felt their reality had just become part of a bizarre movie, i did!! They could write such a great Spaced movie along those lines that would work as a stand alone movie. It doesnt need to involve terrorists, could be any huge event
Anyway, thats my pipe dream for today, i can dream..................

I like the idea of a special. British Shows make awesome specials!

Jess and Simon have thrown fans a couple bones (showing us a little about what it would be like)
Jess talked about a special starting with Tim and Daisy apart. It would be interesting to see.

And as for people who think that the end gives enough closure about Tim and Daisy's relationship I disagree.
On the US box set special features Simon was talking about how Tim and Daisy might get together (as he put it (paraphrasing) It would happen at a point when they both knew that they needed to be together and they would have a kiss that seemed to last forever. They would want to create a moment that would make your hair stand on end.)
