So what do we make of this one? Before watching it again, I thought I'd be giving this a good rating, but now I realise Art has so many great lines and the characters spark off each other so well I'm going to have to give this my first excellent.

abstract expressionism for me - this is a step above ordinary sitcom. the bizarre otherness of it makes it absolutely brilliant, from the job interview, shouting out 'big fat cocks' to an elderly asian gent, to creating a character called hoover who has a hoover tied to him. walliams is fantastic too.
and it took me about ten watches until i realised 'rabbit rabbit rabbit' was a reference to "trapped! in the headlights of the twentyfirst century!" earlier in the episode. i'd always just laughed at it and never heard the "thanks for coming. its been very useful!" line. the ending ties the episode perfectly and also sets up future ones for daisy's character. this is the one for me where it really steps up a level. |
