Many companies such as Agent Provocateur and Mazda use mannequins in their adverts to symbolise sexiness.
The Fembots from Auston Powers, Darhl Hannah from Blade Runner, Kim Catrell in Mannequin all serve the purpose of being sexual objects rather than people. Now I think this is quite racy, but wonder at why I do, sure the lipstick and the high style element is alluring, having a relationship that requires minimal emotional support could be fun (for a short while) but it is all fantasy. Now fantasy is great, I can't get enough of the stuff but you do get wierd bits like Secretary and Boxing Helena which can be secretly fun (former) or downright evil (latter) There are object for the girls too, Data from Star Trek, Arnie from the Terminator movies, D.A.R.Y.L etc. So my question is 'Is it sexy? and from what recesses of the human mind does this come from' Opinions please -m0r |
