I have heard that this to be the second Dog Soldiers film and that its in production/due for release as we speak
Does anyone know if its any good? I love the first one as much as SOTD and I will be disapointed to find out that its a big pile of shit like Babylon 5 |

I doubt it will be much more than straight to video baloney. Neil Marshall (one of the very very few British directors not commited to spending National Lottery funds on celluloid horseshit) has nowt to do with the film, its got some plot involving American soldiers

I'm intrigued by it - I love the original (it's in my Top Ten fave movies of all time), so I'll want to see the sequel, but if it sucks balls....

It will suck balls. Neil Marshall has nothing to do with it for one thing. For another, half the fun of Dog Soldiers was how seat-of-the-pants everything was. It was a B-Movie with a bucketload of class. It should be used in film studies to demonstrate just how much you can squeeze out of a shoe-string budget. |

Really don't think this film should ever see the light of day, frankly. The original is a seminal low-budget film that is such fun to watch, a sequel would just cheapen it. Especially since Neil Marshall isn't involved and he was such an important part of what made the original great. The cast were great as well, obviously, but the writing and directing were what really made it a fun film.

This sounds almost as pony as the 28 days later sequel that's on the way. One to avoid I think.

QUOTE (DazDaMan @ Nov 28 2005, 10:10 PM) This is what I'm referring to. Same cheap sequel not involving the original film-makers idea, which will probably suck as much as the new dog soldiers. EDIT Yup that's the one, it sounds like proper pishness. This post has been edited by Sir_Robin_the_brave: Nov 28 2005, 10:14 PM |
