Second episode also funny but not quite as good. Ayoade was the best thing in it again, actually starting to quite dislike the Irish fella and the ginger woman. Neither of them seem to have much going on. Strangely some of the better jokes were met with dead silence from the audience while they seemed to really enjoy some of the lamer bits.
Bit weak to attempt the shoe storyline again. See the Seinfeld episode The Shoes from season four for a brilliant irrational female behaviour storyline combined with a way-too-clever comment on the difficulty male writers seem to have writing for female characters. |

The shoes were the worst things in it by far.
I think I probably preferred the first episode too - though I did like Chris Morris "declaring war"! I noticed the audience didn't laugh at "social piranhas" - philistines. I can't be the only person to be ridiculously impressed with Richard Ayoade's knife skills? In fact I'm ridiculously impressed with him generally. I only know one woman, and she's just stormed out of here screaming "the shoes!" |

THERE'S A FOURTH NERD!
He appears in episode 4 "The Red Door" Richmond (Noel Fielding) is the rarely seen fourth character in the team. His dirty red office door in the wall behind Roy's desk looks like a rather unassuming gateway to Dante's lower levels. Richmond has a ghoulish complexion only a goth of his devotion could carry off but assures us he does not wear makeup. This gentle-spirited but very spooky nerd drifts accross the screen like a spectre's shadow. |

QUOTE (Zoe @ Feb 2 2006, 08:26 PM) Or "I just realised I was raising my voice, sorry" or the irony line at the very end which I thought was hilarious. It could be that Ayoade's delivery is ace, it could be that his character is easier to write for than the others or it could be both. Not sure. |

They didn't even notice "no not on clothes",
And forcing a unexpected reboot is the same thing as turning it on and off. But thats people for you. |

I've decided Chris Morris is the best thing in it, closely followed by Ayoade.
