But they said I.T. Crowd on the earlier 'office party' trailer, so I don't know what to believe.
Naming sit-coms is hard. |

The first episode's up on the C4 website now. Has anybody watched it? I think it's very promising - there were some great bits of physical comedy and some good gags. I give it a provisional Baxter thumbs up, with a second thumb pending.

Certainly a promising opener, though I want to watch it on a decent screen before deciding, there's something off-putting about watching something on a computer. It's definitely superior to the show that the trailers (especially the ones that have just started being shown) suggested it would be. Maybe not a Ftaher Ted beater, but another worthy addition to Lineham's CV.
They just called it 'The 'it' Crowd', I'm decidedly irritated about that. |

I get the impression they've taken all the funnny bits and put them in the adverts. It may be a grey void with the occasional sparkle. Perhaps like the Dweebs?

As far as I can tell they've stuck the worst bits in the adverts, they really aren't selling it in the ad campaign. Which is a terrible shame because it looks like it could become very good.

Well that's a smile on my face then. I especially enjoy the "Mice/doubleclicking...I could go on". Cheap humour, but filling. And also, the legend Chris Morris to be enjoyed. Mmmmm Morris.

Well im pretty excited about the IT crowd, ive been seeing the trailers and thought, hmmm might have to watch this but after watching T4 this morning (yes i know) i saw steve jones interview a couple of them in it and then saw a mini clip from it which was quite funny. It definately seems to have alot of potential so hopefully it will be a pleasure to watch, cant wait.

I really enjoyed that, got a good few laughs out of me. Could certainly shape up to be a very funny show.

We'll have to wait for Friday for the big unveiling during the opening titles sequence by the look of things. The woman character (Jen???) seems quite funny from what I've seen in the trailer so far. I've seen one brief clip of Richard Ayoade (Moss?) on the phone, with him doing his usual endearingly hammy acting. I've not seen much at all on the third main character, other than him dragging away the woman in those early teaser trailers. It looks to be a nice return to the studio audience sit com though. I look forward to giving this a try. It'll make a change from Friends/Simpsons/Will & Grace/Big Brother on a friday night. |

I wasn't exactly gripped by the adverts but I am definitely going to watch and I must admit I did laugh at - A plan? Let me put on my slightly larger glasses.

The actual programme itself is so much funnier than what they've put into the adverts, there are plenty of laughs and I'm actively excited about the next episode which hasn't happened with a new sitcom in ages. It's a double bill opener on Friday I think. |

According to the Times article: "Linehan’s wife Helen then suggested the title, pronounced the “it” crowd rather than the eye-tee crowd, and everything fell into place."
