right, i have the cheapo korean discs and i've never really been bothered about having no subtitles, but i was just wondering if anyone had the us (maybe under the title 'masters of russian animation') disc; if so, would you be so kind as to rip the subtitles for me?
if you need advice on ripping subs, then just pm me. it'd be very much appreciated, thanks... |

I don't have the US discs, but I just thought I'd mention that I've briefly met Yuri Norshtein, and he was a lovely man.

Oh, I just noticed that they have it on netflix.... well, add it to your list (or whatever you do with these fancy-dan rental services) it's a little gem. 'tale of tales' is my absolute favourite, but i have a lot of time for 'hedgehog in the fog' too... if you do rent them, then would you be an absolute darling and rip the subs? i'll send you something nice in return... |

QUOTE (dandan @ Jun 9 2006, 09:10 AM) Hey! I've met him too (kind of - I was on the front row of a talk he did on his work, and sat next to him in a cafe on the same day, but didn't pluck up the courage to say anything to him. Managed a half-smile and head nod of recognition though). It was actually a bit odd as he kept on bringing up the anti-American sentiment he felt he had experienced in Bristol. I really have no idea what that was all about. The only real anti-American thing at the time was the group of about 3 people that met up every evening to chant "Stop the War" at the Bristol Hippodrome. |
