Just ordered a copy of Grant Lee-Phillips' new album ''Nineteeneighties", a collection of classic 80's indie anthems from the likes of The Smiths, Joy Division and The Cure done in an alt.country style.

Comments of the Inner Chorus - Tunng.

Weirdy electro-folk act's latest LP, whose output was recently described as Trunktronica. Figure that one out...

Good choices. 'Freewheelin' is a bit rough around the edges but that is part of it's charm. Blood On The Tracks is an absolute masterpiece.

You're absolutely right there. One of the finest albums ever made.

In terms of Dylan, I'd also strongly recommend getting ahold of The Bootleg Series which contains rough cuts and unused material, much of which is enjoyable. Sometimes I actually prefer the bootleg to the final cut, such as Tangled Up In Blue, whose acoustic version mops the floor with the Blood on the Tracks cut. Given that that version is wonderful, it gives you an idea of how good he can be when it's just him and his guitar.

That sounds great actually. Tangled Up In Blue is one of my favourite songs.

Bought Wolfmother today, rock on! I'm gonna party like it's 1977. It's sooo good.

I went to take Weller's Stanley Road back to HMV today in exchange for this one, I paid the two pounds extra for Wolfmother, but somehow ended up walking out with both of them. smile.gif

I presume it's directed at me. It's great I especially love Piggy Pie and The Halls Of Illusions. It was 6 from Virgin, bargain.

The Cure-Head On The Door
The Ramones-The Ramones
Tori Amos-Little Earthquakes

To top it all off the cute American girl behind the counter said it was the best selection that they had seen all day. Really puts a spring in the step.

Simple Kid-Simple Kid 1
The Rapture-Echoes

Been meaning to get these for ages and I found them all in a pre-owned CD section, so they only cost me 12 quid in total. Score!
