I am packing up the house for my move at the end of the month and I'm listening to the TAL podcasts. #203: Recordings for Someone is great; the story about the stutterer is heartbreaking, but that guy is a champ. Right now though, I'm cracking up at the Peter Pan story in #61: Fiasco!

Adam and Joe have got a new-ish podcast on since they finished their run of x-fm stuff. I can't find a link at the moment, but it's something like Coke World Music. I know there's a myspace for it, I'll try and find a link once I come back from lunch.

The Coke Music myspace site

Tis pretty good stuff. Adam and Joe are as funny as ever and there's even a few decent songs on there, as well as some god awful rapping in German for the sake of balance.

I like Nowhere in mulberry, which is an entertainment podcast with 4 friends talking about what's new in entertainment.  http://www.nimpodcast.blogspot.com

Listened to episodes 53 through 59. Pretty good stuff. Not laugh out loud funny most of the time, but they're certainly helping me get through the work day with a few decent chuckles.

The only episode available on Itunes I could find was based around Iraq and the way we measure casualties. Very interesting, I certainly felt educated after listening. Time to get some more I think.

If you can find the "Recordings For Someone" episode (that's turned up on iTunes for us, dunno if selected eps are different overseas), grab it immediately. Both sad and toucing (a segment with audio tapes sent by a soldier in Iraq to his family) as well as mad and hilarious. (The Columbia University "Little Mermaid" story, which involves a hopping mad Jewish mother leaving her son a spectacular voice mail. Oh, it's good.)

There's a real lack of good comedy podcasts aside from A&J and Ricky G.

tru say, except a&j's show is a pretty example (imo) of a failure to get to grips with podcasting, it's just a branded commercial radio show on the net, doesn't have the warmth of of the many great amateurs out there.

comedy-wise i dig:

goodnight burbank (pastiche of a californian local tv news show)
the onion radio news
distorted view (touch o' the curate's egg, mind)
dawn & drew (mentioned earlier) & saturday night with the who boys (ditto) can both be very funny

the times edinburgh fringe comedy podcasts with jason byrne were abysmal, and now they're spamming me for shows i am not interested in mad.gif

most of the comedy casts i've come across have been three-legged dogs, and i've unsubscribed from them. but c'est la vie, as people get to grips with it, there'll be more great shows along soon smile.gif

Not current/recent podcasts as such, rather a trawl back in time this, but if you're willing to leave the computer running for most of the weekend on a BitTorrent download, Cookd and Bombd currently have Chris Morris' entire run of Radio 1 Music Shows from 1994 available as a job lot download. I dare say Chappers already has these. Possibly.

Go HERE

24 x hour-long episodes of general silliness, Feedback Reports, The Sock Quiz, music, Paul Garner the Shopkeeper Botherer ("when he gives you the change, tell him the coins are angry"), Kiddy's Outing, Childish Airport Tannoy Announcements, music, Michael Alexander St. John's Dance Chart run-down, The Cow Quiz, the death of Michael Heseltine and other bogus news reports, Wayne Carr Interviews: 2Unlimited/Edwina Currie/Frankie Valli/Peter Stringfellow, inventing tomorrow's news in case of a Newsbeat! departmental strike and approaching Members of Parliament for soundbites for the as-yet-unhappened news, more music, Chris' mate Sergeant Murphy, Big Spoon Baby Balloon and oh so much more. And plenty of insulting/embarrassing his right-hand man Peter Baynham.

At 80Mb per episode, it's not a 10-minute download. Have fun.

Cripes! Just out of curiosity, what's the total file size for the whole shebang? I'd probably have to dump it all straight onto a DVD after.
