Well after watching tonight's episode, this show is officially one of the best things that has aired on network television recently. Excellent cast, the story is building up quite nicely, and each episode ends with you wanting more. So what do we think?
I loved the Rain Man homage in the Casino tonight. I am not a good topic creator now that I am typing this out. Maybe the next poster can get the ball rolling better than I am. |

I love this show too. It' real clever, and has great writing and acting.
The ending to this weeks episode had me going, "Woah, what this show could get even better." |

Things REALLY clicked into gear this week. After three weeks of deliberate but too-turgid, IMO, origin setup we had some wonderful first meetings, some serious character development and a glimpse at where the show is headed that made me think twice about jumping ship anytime soon. It still needs a bit more snark and a bit less sanctity, but we'll see if they get there on their own time...
So, with Niki's power...is her doppleganger identity extremely strong and agile? Kind of like Callisto in the X-Verse? Hmm - decent power, but the split personality thing just makes her seem crazy. Hopefully as she comes to terms with her powers she'll pull her selves together and have done with the "Niki's not here right now" schtick. Hiro is where it's at. Still. |

Well a co-worker pointed out that the tattoo on Niki's back is the same logo that the evil black man has a necklace of.. I am going to re-watch it tonight to confirm. I agree about the ending, it was excellent. The preview for next week shows that we will finally get to see some action. Also that Peter's power is most likely going to be that of absorbing power as we see him "possessed" like the heroin junkie is when he paints his photos.

I am going to re-watch it tonight to confirm. Oh, I can confirm that for you right now - yes, it is. That logo also turned up embedded in the binary code that Mohrinder found on his dad's computer, if you watched that scene carefully. There were a couple of other instances, too. |

I just want to know if badass sword-wielding, non-glasses wearing, english-speaking future Hiro has his friend with him. And if he's still as much fun dressed all in black and being all serious.

And if he's still as much fun dressed all in black and being all serious. Probably not, but that's OK. We'll probably get a whole lot more of present-day, crushingly naive yet fully dedicated to his destiny Hiro in our near future. ETA: Aha! This would explain the leap in writing in this week's episode: QUOTE This one was written by the great Bryan Fuller, who created "Dead Like Me" and "Wonderfalls," and masterminded the TV version of "The Amazing Screw-On Head." Write more, Bryan. Please. This post has been edited by thirtyhelens: Oct 18 2006, 04:31 PM |

Just watched the first 4 episodes. Fantastic. Ep1 was a bit slow but when it kicks in it kicks in. Final shot of Ep3 was a humdinger. Hiro is already my, well, hero.
A bit Lost-ish in the way the characters are "linked", but still makes great TV. |

Eppy FIVE! Thoughts?
They do seem to be yoinking a disproportionate amount of powers from the X-Verse - i.e. Peter's got a Rogue-ish power, Niki's husband appears to be a tall, black, male Kitty Pryde - but it's I'm sure it's much harder to come up with original powers than you might think. It's how you make them play off one another that counts. The Nathan/Hiro encounter had me on the floor, BTW. When are they going to build their Hall of Justice? Season Three? That's too long to wait... |

Maybe it was just me, but it seemed to kinda drag last night. At least we are finally starting to see the powers at use.

QUOTE (Punkass @ Oct 24 2006, 11:12 AM) Compared to last week's episode, I can see that. Still better than the first couple of post-pilot eps, though. "Waff-uh-ruhs!" I wuv him. This post has been edited by thirtyhelens: Oct 24 2006, 07:16 PM |

Just rewatched ep 5 and noticed a neat little thing in that when Peter is possessed and painting he uses his left hand, like Isaac, while unpossessed he's right handed.
That and I can just watch Nathan taking off away from creepy glasses man and silent black guy and breaking the sound barrier over and over. Such a great moment in a show full of them |
