Er, yes, well, moving right along.......

Only one day til I see my 3rd screening of HF. Yay!!!
On a different note - I showed Shaun of the Dead to my mum last night.
It really really scared her!!

There is a pane of frosted glass next to my front door and the lights outside were making shadows on it of the trees moving in the wind.  Mum was grabbing me saying "Sarah there's something at the door agh!"
I said "mum it's just a shadow of the trees - what did you think it was, zombies?"
Bless her.

That's so weird because I just watched it again tonight. I had nothing to do so I watched it with Simon and Edgar's commentary. I find it a lot less scary with their giggling over it.

I watched the out-takes a few nights back, and promptly cackled like a lunatic (Yeah bitch! Too fat to dance!) Then watched the Spaced series 1 out-takes. Much more cackling ensued (Pump! Up the jam! Pump it up!)

*EDIT* Back on topic, I'm seeing HF twice in the next two days.

hehee. Well, I'm seeing Hot Fuzz for my 4th time tomorrow with the rest of the Melbourne Spaced-Outers; plus I'll be seeing my 5th viewing with another friend of mine in the next couple of weeks. I'll also get to see my 6th viewing with my sister & mother some time in the near future. I want to see it on the big screen as many times as I can before they end the cinema run.

I'd forgotten how long it's been since I actually sat down and watched Shaun.
It was weird realising how well I know the soundtrack - more so than the movie itself.
It was also funny coming across the little lines that I used to quote all the time and had completely forgotten.
Like: David "IIIIII'm not going out there" and Dianne "The definately want to come in"
(those quotes don't look funny in print but it's the intonations that make them)



Well, 3rd screening of HF tomorrow and 4th scheduled for next Wednesday. Hooray!





P.S. Just spoke to mum. I asked if she had bad dreams about zombies or encountered any on her drive home from my place last night. She giggled and said "no it was all fine"

unlike Kill Bill Edgars things age well with time. watching Spaced is still entertaining and so is SotD. and i feel every time i watch either of them something a bit deeper about the characters comes out.

But she is quite smart and has a pretty good sense of humour - mostly.
It would seem she is also easily swayed by popular opinion - it's only because she saw and heard so many great reviews and interviews on Hot Fuzz that she suddenly decided she wanted to see it and Shaun. hahahahaa


I must admit I haven't really gone back and re-watched Kill Bill since it came out.
I quite liked it at the time though.
I do have Pulp Fiction on DVD but only very rarely watch it these days. It's still entertaining but doesn't have the impact it did when I was younger.

The rat bastards at my cinema took it off! Nooooooooooooo!!!
It has one screening everyday this week at 9.30!!! How is that fair!? Last buses run at 11.30. The film doesnt start for 15 mins and it's a 15 minute walk to the bus stop. I'm so depressed. I'll actually have to stop at 14!
On the bright side I did buy the HF sound track today and ordered the SotD one aswell. Because clearly I have nothing better to do with my money!

On the plus side - the soundtrack is bloody brilliant.
I've been listening to it frequently all week.

And I listened to the Shaun one obsessively when I got it to.
Those guys really know how to put together a rocking soundtrack.

I KNOW! What am I going to do?
I'm so utterly depressed but thankfully the HF soundtrack is brilliant so that takes a little bit of the pain away.
