Troy could have been so much better. If you're making a film about an ancient Greek myth, then you've got to include Gods! There's no other historical record available other than the various retellings of the myth so you might as well go the whole hog and include the mystical elements.

Tell me about it! Also get a British/Irish actor to play Achilles, rather thn someone you've cast for their body. The scene between Pitt and O'Toole is the biggest case I've ever seen of an older acomplished actor coming on to the screen and going "Now watch lad,THIS! is how you play epic myth." and then wiping the floor with him.
