I thought that the Human Dalek was a tad camp and a tad shit.
That is all. |

Scaroth wasn't camp though. He's Julian Glover. And he pinched a forum member's arse.

Nice conclusion. Though I do hope they leave the Daleks for a while, but I just know they'll come back for the last episode like they always do.

As far as I know, they're not back at the end of the season. There's another Big bad in town.

I wasn't hugely impressed by last nights offering.
After a slow start the week before they seemed to be squeezing in a lot at the end and the "human" Daleks - with Tommy Gun lasers - seemed to be bolted on. I did like the two Dalek's having a chat in the tunnel though, especially when one of the looked around to see if there was anyone around! Yes, leave them for a series or two please! |

I actually liked last night's a lot, the best of the series so far, IMHO.
Mainly for the concepts. The fact that Sec admitted that he thought Davros had been wrong about the Daleks being the superior race, nice touch. Reminded me a bit of Garman in Genesis, if I'm being honest. The chat with Kaan and Thay (I think) in the tunnel was brilliant, as Raven's said, Thay looking round to see if anyone was listening, excellent stuff. Sec being chained and collared because he was different, yes, I admit I could see that coming, Daleks aren't known for their forward thinking. And the Dalek Humans did feel slightly tacked-on, they could have made a little more of the fact that they had Time Lord DNA in them as well (or did they?). I have to also admit I'm a little sad to see Sec get killed off. Yes, I suppose it was to draw a parallel with Solomon, but even so, I think he had the potential to become a really good character. And the Daleks live on through Kaan. But again, I hope they leave them for a bit now. If they have to bring back an old monster again, why not the Sontarans, or Ice Warriors? |

Last night was possibly the weakest Doctor Who episode I've seen. It was all written very... clunkily. This may be to do with the science of it - turning genetic technologies into a sort of black-box deus ex machina always pisses me off, but they pushed it a bit far last night. Also making the Daleks emo was pants.

I liked watching him adapt to feeling emotions and Thay looking round in the tunnel was a lovely touch, which my brother and dad also pointed out. I think the relationship between the Doctor and Sec could have become really interesting, but I think he needed to be killed to show that the rest of the Daleks were still.. Daleks, really. Yeah, I agree, it'd be nice to see some more 'baddies' being brought back. This post has been edited by Mrs Bisley: Apr 29 2007, 11:50 AM |
