Even some of the crap presenters can still be a part of a good show, usually thanks to being ripped to shreds by Ian and Paul, but yeah Shatner's a funny one. He can have a great sense of humour, but like many yanks on UK panel shows, just might not 'get it'.

Well, at least Charlie Brooker and Andy Hamilton can be relied upon!

Sorry for the double-post, but does anyone remember the show Matt's Million?
I was thinking about old CITV shows and it popped back into my head, with surprising clarity. It only ran for four episodes in 1997, yet I can still remember it. Amazing. |

William Shatner to guest host Have I Got News for You. To close to call as to whether this is going to be funny or embarrassing. Mostly funny, but largely because I don't think the rest of them could get over how surreal it was to have Shatner there asking the questions. His comment about Ilfracombe had me laughing like a drain, however. |

It only ran for four episodes in 1997, yet I can still remember it. Amazing. It was really only 4 episodes? I would never have guessed that. I have a few memories of it. Didn't he invent a boardgane to get rich? I remember an episode where he bought a Mars Bar and his mum got all pissy asking where the money came from. Do you remember the show where the 2 kids find a small alien ship and have adventures in it. I'm not going to google it as it'd be too easy. I think the show was called Aquilla. The ship could turn invisible and I think it was powered by air (one episode it starts to not work until the unclog the air filters). Another episode they move a whole ruined castle with its tractor beam ray. Another episode they try to knock someone out with a rsy and set the distance of effect to 5m, not realising that m on the ships computer didn't mean metre, but some much bigger alien measurement and they end up knocking out the whole school. Does anyone remember The Queens Nose and how useless the main character was? Christ, I just got punched in the face by Nostalgia.... |

I have vague memories of The Queen's Nose, but I haven't heard of Aquila before. |

Aquila was bloody awesome.
Remember "Out of Sight", the show about the kid who invented an invisibility spray and kept it in a fluorescent green bottle? Here's the ultimate one for you. I have never met another person who remembers this show. Even my sister, whom I watched it with, doesn't remember it. It is real though, and I have it all on my computer. Remember "Odyssey"? A Canadian show about a boy who gets knocked into a coma. The show is divided between his mother and friends dealing with him in hospital, and his coma dream; a Mad Max-style world inhabited only by children. Here's the intro. I may well have brought this one up before. It was one of my favourite shows as a kid, yet nobody remembers it. Ryan Reynolds was in it. ![]() And Jewel Staite.
