Robert Carlyle? Anybody?

Elijofor would be great, but I can't see him leaving Hollywood.

They could use digital technology to put Pertwee Snr back in it. Hell, they could use any dead actor, Richard Burton would make a great Doctor.

Wasn't the Peggster once considered for the role? Do you think he would take it or is he too big for it now?

I'd still love to see Mark Heap in the role.

Or someone completely from left field like Lee Ingleby.

Unfortunately for Doctor Who fans (possibly), their next choice will be entirely based on the popularity and appeal of David Tennant. It'll have to be someone as young/cool/attractive as him to keep as wide a following as possible.

That leaves one person. Me.

But really, forum Doctor: Shack would be your Peter Davidson equivalent, Chappers is your William Hartnell, Ade your Tom Baker...

I am Sophie Aldred.

Mentioning no one specifically... a lot of these choices for the Doctor are terrible.

Peter O'Toole on the other hand is perfect. David Tennant has been copying him since Casanova, and it's about time we got the real deal. I vote Jodie Whittaker for his assistant.

He is still teh sex.
