Well I can't say I'm pleased with that choice. I'll watch the first one he's in but if it's shitty I don't think I'll bother with the rest - I don't find him very likable at all.

It's not as good a choice as they could have gone with, but I'm optimistic about Matt Smith in the role. I've seen him in quite a few things and he's always impressed me, most obviously in Ruby In The Smoke, which he was really great in. Should be interesting.

I think the thing that worries me about him at the moment is the fact that he had no eyebrows. It's really the one thing I ask from any Doctor.
However, from previous form he seems to be more than competent and if the scripts are good then he should be fine. Dr Who casting always seems to confound expectations so I'm hoping for a fairly entertaining series next year. |

I think the fact that Steven Moffat is confident in him is the strongest indicator of his potential.
He should definitely get a haircut, though. |

I trust Moffat, and I'm sure his tenure will be largely excellent. I don't see the public warming to this child though. I give him two years before he's pushed.

My parents (Who fans from day 1) aren't impressed that the Doctor is going to be younger than any of their children. Not at all sure how this choice will play out with the older audience demographics.
I agree he needs a haircut. I've not watched the programmes he's been in before - apart from perhaps one episode of Party Animals in which he clearly made no impact whatsoever on me. So I will reserve judgement on his suitability. |

As a direct result of Tennants face, if the new Doctor isn't beautiful I don't care. This was not my logic as a child watching Dr Who but alas, I am a grown woman now and unless I can easily drift into some sort of Doctor and glasses involving fantasy when it gets boring, I am not at all interested...
