Best personal discovery of the year: Mastodon

I actually can't believe it took me until this year to hear of these. Brann Dailor has jumped straight into my list of favourite drummers.

Ray LaMontagne's album Trouble was the soundtrack to my holiday, too. I really like him, he's very laid back and his voice makes me sleepy. Especially Shelter, which is an amazing song.

Radiohead - In Rainbows
Justice - Cross
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
120 Days - 120 Days
The Lionheart Brothers - Dizzy Kiss
The Whitest Boy Alive - Dreams
Explosions In The Sky - All Of A Sudden I Miss Everyone

I think my favourite single of 2007 is 'Piece of Me' by Britney Spears.

A song that's surely a direct result of her breakdown.

Mental illness can produce some great pop music.

I heard that it was actually around in the Britney camp a good while before the head shaving thing.

That's one hell of a way to promote a single.

She went nuts about 2 years ago!

God bless her.

I couldn't love Brit Brit any more.
