Very very sad, I've spent a lot of time in the company of his books. His grandson said to read his work was to know the man, and from what I've read, he was a hell of a man.

I enjoyed Fahrenheit 451, but The Martian Chronicles bored me rigid.

I do morn the passing or Bradbury however, largely because of his short story The Pedestrian, which I originally read as a teenager in an English lesson (and I still have the photocopied version of the story I was given that day).

Bradbury taught me there was more to science fiction than fast ships and ray guns, and for that I thank him.

I shook his hand in Atlanta sometime in the 90s.

Such a loss.

Henry Hill

A character who fascinated many, thanks to the book 'Wiseguy' (great read) and the film based on it 'Goodfellas' (great watch).

Victor Spinetti

Appeared in films with a bunch of my musical heroes, as in addition to appearing in the three Beatles films, he also popped up in 'Under The Cherry Moon'.

Caroline John.

I'm surprised they managed to keep the lid on that within the Who community.

Nora Ephron.

I don't know why, but I'm surprised she was that old.

Eric Sykes.

One of my very favourites. I loved his show with Hattie Jacques when I was little.
