I did like Tobias, but I really wanted to see more of Stevie - it was just getting interesting.

Day two of BGT (and what is with Amanda's hair?):

Taboo - The costumes and colours in the background made it look so messy and confusing, not helped by the fact that there's far too many of them.
Neil Fullard - I think Simon had it spot on.
The Ruby Girls - Nothing special.
Connected - Urgh. I wasn't impressed by their audition, to be honest, so I wasn't holding out high hopes. As far as I heard, there was only one with a good voice.
Kev Orkian - I loved his audition, but he was definitely one of those acts where it was the element of surprise that made him so brilliant. Such a shame.
Michael Fayo Jnr & Snr - They are good at dancing, but I got bored very quickly.
Tina & Chandi - Loved it, especially the bit at the end.
Maxxie Oliver - Who put him through anyway?!

Tina & Chandi have to go through tonight. I think Neil Fullard was next best but I'm not too fussed about any of the other acts, to be honest.

I know, what was that?

That's what I was hoping for, and I thought that was what we were going to get when Simon was talking about it possibly being Neil's last chance.. but no, it's the little boys who mostly can't sing. At least the dog got through, that's the important thing.

I know I keep saying this, but Breaking Bad really is an astounding show. I'm up to the end of season 3 with just two more episodes to go and I haven't felt this much uncertainty, dread and excitement at the end of a season since Season 5 of The Sopranos. This is tempered by the fact that I'll have to wait a year for the next season, but it'll be worth the wait. I'm hooked on that blue shit, yo.

I do very much want to watch this, as from what I've heard it starts great and gets better, and maybe I'll start over the summer - though still waiting for Dexter 4 to pop up on UK screens.

Day three of BGT:

Starburst - Cute, but a bit hectic and eye-melting.
Chloe Hickinbottom - Such a wonderful voice for a ten year old.
Philip Grimmer - I can't even bring myself to comment.
Paul Burling - Truly excellent.
The Arrangement - So bizzare. I'm not sure I like the guy's voice, but they're very entertaining.
Jimmy Forde - He's a sweet old guy, but I can't say I'm a fan of his act.
Christopher Stone - Great voice, and he seemed more confident tonight.
Peridot - Good, but dull. I may be biased because I'm tired of such acts.

A difficult night tonight. I think I'd like to see Paul Burling again, and then I'm torn between Chloe and The Arrangement.

Fun fact. They go to my sixth form, or went to my sixth form, now that we've broken up for A2 exams. It wasn't that fun a fact.

Man, you went to posh school. No wonder Lord Frijj had a monocle.

Cambridge is pretty posh. Owning impractical eyewear was a more important prerequisite than being in the catchment area. And I didn't even go to a private school; there you have to provide photographic evidence that proves you were born with a silver spoon in your mouth and that's just to access the website.

Hmm. Sounds interesting. Though I doubt it'll be as bizarre and awesome as the original.

Springwatch in HD is amazing. Highlight so far this week have been some slow motion HD shots of a Hobby snatching dragonflies in mid flight and some slow motion infrared footage of bats. It makes me wish I worked outside all the time. Some day, some day.
