Has anyone bothered watching The Event on Channel 4? I saw the opening two eps but missed last week's, and will more than likely miss tomorrow's, but wouldn't mind knowing if it's worth setting the VCR for.

I don't know if it's worth it, I know I will carry on watching it (unless it becomes really awful) just to find out what happens but I'm hardly gripped. I think if I missed one I wouldn't be too fussed. |

You get the feeling that it's either going to get great or very dull. |

The Top 5 was pathetic. Top 5 Rubik's Cube moments! Number 2, Charlie Sheen holds one briefly in Being John Malkovich! The more I think about it, the more I think it's just there as a device to bring correspondence in. The less likely the top 5, the more people will mail in. It's a bit like me saying what my top 5 biscuits are and then everyone sticking their two penneth in because I've stick a Rich Tea in there (which I wouldn't). |

Have I Got News For You
Who would have thought James Blunt was so funny? An opinion changing performance. |

Community's Halloween special was pretty awesome. It was amazing. I particularly liked Troy and Abed's dual costume, Zombie Jeff going "MWAH," the weirdly terrifying jumping cat and the following line: "Troy, make me proud. Be the first black man to make it to the end." |

I liked Abed's dubbed commentary as they escaped from the zombies, it reminded me of Darkplace.
I also thought the most recent episode was the best this series so far. |

I've not caught up with that one yet but I'm really looking forward to it. The last couple of episodes have been as strong as anything in the first season and it's been a lot more consistent in the early going. I'm also really looking forward to the claymation Christmas special, which sounds stupidly ambitious.

Quite a few average performances in the ol' Egg Factor last night.
Mary, Katie, Cher (and obviously Wagner) all a bit below par. I'm starting to come around to One Direction. Part of last nights coverage lended them an air of a young Take That. Praise indeed. Matt and Rebecca knocked my socks off. |

Matt, Paije (THAT is how you mix songs in a performance, Wagner and Cher!!), Rebecca and Treyc were all pretty good.
Matt is going to win this. I'd actually vote, which I don't normally do, though I admit I might end up being torn between him and Rebecca. |

Matt is a nice guy (which is more than can be said for half of the girls) but I really don't like the way he sings.
I felt bad for Mary because that song was totally wrong for her and she knew it all along. As always, I disliked Cher and her squeaky high notes and Katie and her breathless singing. She has no power behind her voice at all, yet she fanices herself as a rock chick? I'm not even going to comment on Wagner, Aiden was as intense and creepy as ever and One Direction made me want to throw up. Rebecca was amazing, as always, and Paije and Treyc were good. Hard to say who'll be in the sing-off tonight. I want to say Katie, but that may just be wishful thinking on my part. |

Looking forward to the start of The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret next week. Anyone know if it's meant to be any good?

I saw the first three episodes when I was last in America and it is great, though how much you like it may depend on how much cringe-inducing awkwardness you can stand in concentrated doses.
