For those of you in the Los Angeles area, here's the first of a number of special events around the US to coincide with the imminent SPACED DVD in July.

There's a special guest moderator still to be announced and I still haven't yet picked one of the two episodes I'm going to show, so suggestions are welcome. Leaning towards 2.5 (GONE) as the second half, but open to suggestions for the first series.

Either way, all of you who are in LA or a hop, skip and a jump away should come down - will be a lot of fun...

Before infesting London with blood-crazed zombies in Shaun of the Dead, before shooting up sleepy English villages in Hot Fuzz, director Edgar Wright, along with writer/stars Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes, brought UK audiences Spaced.

In only 14 episodes, the show became one of British television's most enduring cult hits, winning fans internationally including JJ Abrams, Judd Apatow, Kevin Smith, and Quentin Tarantino. Now Spaced is finally (finally) coming to DVD in the U.S. on July 22. Join us to celebrate the launch with a screening of two complete Spaced episodes, some great clips, and a conversation with director Edgar Wright.

Me as well. I will need to get all sorted for a road trip down to Austin. I personally vote for 1.3 (Art) as it is one of my favorite episodes. Maybe I can hook Edgar and crew up just like Julie did up in Canada.

Last night was great. Theater was PACKED. Stand-by line snaked down the block from the theater. Edgar was charming, as always. Matt Stone was a great moderator who didn't spend the entire night talking about himself. He was cordial, knew his stuff. Edgar went with three episodes instead of two: Art and Epiphanies, and Gone. Plus one of the original adverts and then Spaced Jam from the DVD.

I don't have any pix, sadly. Doesn't look like there was press. I'm sure someone will have something they can post. Edgar was mobbed at the closing, but I did see a few celebs who attended. Not the least of which was Bill Hader from SNL and Superbad.

Edgar did mention that he, Simon and Jessica would be making the rounds when the DVD finally is available. He said they'd likely be at Comicon and also some appearances in L.A. and other stops in the U.S.

I'm wrecked today, but glad we went. Seeing the show projected w/ a huge group of enthusiastic brothas 'n' sistas is hard to beat. Can't wait for the CC festivities.

Boy! You said it. I went with my friend who only recently got into Spaced, at my behest. She's totally hooked now and had a great time Tuesday night. But we got home REALLY late and I was a mess the next morning. I wish I could have stayed around longer to meet Edgar, but he was just mobbed. I'm gonna try to get to the LA signing.
