For those of you in the Los Angeles area, here's the first of a number of special events around the US to coincide with the imminent SPACED DVD in July.

There's a special guest moderator still to be announced and I still haven't yet picked one of the two episodes I'm going to show, so suggestions are welcome. Leaning towards 2.5 (GONE) as the second half, but open to suggestions for the first series.

Either way, all of you who are in LA or a hop, skip and a jump away should come down - will be a lot of fun...

"Spaced: Invasion USA"

Talks, Chats, and Conversations

(120 mins)

Before infesting London with blood-crazed zombies in Shaun of the Dead, before shooting up sleepy English villages in Hot Fuzz, director Edgar Wright, along with writer/stars Simon Pegg and Jessica Hynes, brought UK audiences Spaced.

In only 14 episodes, the show became one of British television's most enduring cult hits, winning fans internationally including JJ Abrams, Judd Apatow, Kevin Smith, and Quentin Tarantino. Now Spaced is finally (finally) coming to DVD in the U.S. on July 22. Join us to celebrate the launch with a screening of two complete Spaced episodes, some great clips, and a conversation with director Edgar Wright.

Screening Schedule
Tuesday, June 24th 10:00pm
The Regent
$12.00

For ticketing information please phone 1-866-345-6337 or email boxoffice@filmindependent.org

I'd suggest showing the paintball episode from the 1st series. As it introduces Duane (and Colin), and Mike's 'death' scene at the end is amazing.

Yeah, 1.4 has been suggested a few times now.

I'm leaning towards 1.3, 1.4 or 1.6...

Hmmm.

Actually forget what I said. Go with 1.6. The 7 minutes of Camisra'll get the audience all hyped up for the next episode! biggrin.gif

I reckon 1.6 should be shown, as it would go pretty well with 2.5

Whatever episode is chosen, will it be the "Frasier Cut", with the continuity announcer over the end credits?

4 or 6 is a difficult choice... But I say 4 - the 'death' scene is just fantastic.

Ooooh, tough choice - two of my very favourite episodes. I think you should go for 1.4 as it's quite different to 2.5 - I love 1.6 but it's another 'night out' episode and you want to show the variety of the show.

How exciting! Wish LA wasn't a gazillion miles from me. smile.gif

How do you pick which of your children you love the most? LOL!

Coin toss? Fan poll?

I have already bought my tickets. I'll be happy with anything. I can't wait.

With gas prices being what they are here, it might be cheaper to fly to The Regent from my house than driving there.

I vote 1.1 and that pilot. I'm sure the comparison would be entertaining.

Like most of you I'd go with 1.4 or 1.6, although I'm leaning more towards 6 because I think it would be great fun to see it on the big screen with a large audience.
