Does anyone know how reliable pre-owned PSPs can be?
Thinking of buying one next week. |

I've been playing an oldie recently - Evolva. Lots of fun. I also signed up to an XWA/XvT clan, after a few years off...

Resistance 2 looks like the most generic FPS ever made. Look at some footage of it, and other than the giant walking script sequence it could be any game from the past few years.
To be honest there's really very little on the horizon on any console that interests me much at all. Not enough that I'd actually want to buy them, anyway. Too many games now are all serious and complicated. That's fine sometimes, but I often just want a simple thing that's going to entertain me. Then on the flip-side of the coin we have all the casual games, again most of which have failed to capture my interest. This post has been edited by GundamGuy_UK: Jul 18 2008, 10:47 PM |

Half-Life 2 is fantastic.
All modern games are people shouting various profanities and running down grey corridors shooting grey people with lots of lens flare and bloom everywhere. At least Half-Life 2 had some interesting implied backstory that you find scattered around, and the levels were varied enough for it not to all merge into 1 mass. The original is still better, though. Half-Life 2 is one of the more recent games I've actually played, I still think of it as "new" even though it's been out for 4 years. Same here, although the field of view in that game gave me motion sickness.

I've been playing Call of Duty 4 the past few days. I have to say, like its predecessors, it's a 5 or 6 out of 10 at best for me. Almost every level feels exactly the same, the whole chaotic infinitely respawning AIs with gunfire coming from all over the place, boring weapons that half the time you can't tell if you're hitting anyone with, generic soldier characters with no personality. The only level I've really enjoyed was the one where you're in the camouflage suit as a sniper, but even then that's only because it was a welcome respite from the usual tedious grinding your way through waves of identical enemies.
