Has a Dead Space sequel been confirmed then? I've heard a fair bit of news about the wii prequel but not much about DS2.
I think there is more story to tell. |

One hasn't been confirmed, I'm just assuming there will be one. As far as I know Dead Space has been quite popular.
Dead Space's final cutscene, for example, was probably just as short, though admittedly with less to tie up, but far more effective, satisfying and in keeping with the rest of the game (though obviously played more for a final 'boo!' yuk-yuk than actually making a great deal of sense like many a horror film). Agreed, that final moment creeped me and Hayleigh out just in time for bed. What do you think of it though. I've read people who think that it is actually isaac's girlfriend who has finally managed to find him as a necromorph only to attack/kill him. But I think Isaac is just tripping balls still. |

Getting out of bed for my many toilet trips that night was not fun, I kept thinking about it, and thenthinking about The Grudge and freaking myself right out

Yeah i didn't like that night either
FF XIII preview scans EDIT: Well it seems a bit pointless, looks like the scans are too small to read what they say....might be bigger versions at the source but it's blocked to me at work. This post has been edited by monkeyman: Apr 6 2009, 03:27 PM |

Killzone dude is back to his old tricks. I think I'm coming up to the end. **Nothing really spoilery but I'll black it out just in case** There's just me and him going after the main bad guy. We've just got to a part were we have to fight off a load of bad guys, there's a shelter that we can basically use as a pillbox to fend them off from but he obviously wants to prance about in the open getting killed and leaving me blindsided. Then once we have successfully defended ourselves, we have to move forward covering each other. Now all he wants to do is stay in the pillbox and let me get out in the open and get surrounded. Prick. I've given up for today.

I finished Killzone today and whilst the mechanics of it are probably the best I've played, it's got quite a few little things that let it down. I had no idea what was going on regarding the story and for the most part just followed the little orange arrow. There wasn't that many memorable set-pieces and apart for a couple most weren't that good. There was too much reliance on the poor friendly NPCs, mainly during important moments otherwise they could be ignored. And whilst very well rendered, visually it wasn't that impressive. Apart from this the game was very good, with some of the best action around but all these little things take too much from what could have been an all time classic.
I've decided to have a run through KOTOR and does that seem old now. Seems strange to think of an xbox game with graphics so bad. And the xbox controller seems ridiculously massive now it's been years since I last used it. |

It certainly does, it's a shame that this is how most people see actual games... Oh and I would like to officially nominate Call Of Duty: World At War for the title of worlds shittest game. This post has been edited by fatseff1234: Apr 7 2009, 08:04 PM |

Apart from this the game was very good, with some of the best action around but all these little things take too much from what could have been an all time classic. I haven't finished it yet, but so far that's almost exactly what I've thought of it so far. The potential for greatness, execution was brilliant, but let down by a lack of imagination and variety. A truly great shooter, like Half Life 2, or Gears of War 2, mixes things up with totally varying enemies that require completely different strategies to beat, whereas Killzone 2 did nothing but send wave after wave of identical enemies at you. The only real variety was the flying bot things, and the big stompy armoured guy with the minigun. Besides that, it was 99% generic red eyed soldiers. Even though the graphics were great, it never really made me think "wow". I've been quite happy to use the same assault rifle right the way through the game, which suggests that the game is a bit narrow focus if one gun does the job right the way through. 8.5/10 for me. What it has, it does extremely well. It just doesn't have a lot. I'd love to see them do a third game, not have to faff around making a new engine, and concentrate on getting some more gameplay into it rather than just stringing the same scene out for hours. |

I think it makes more sense that it's just a horrific hallucination, but I think it was done more for kicks than narrative coherence. |
