Because of Dan I've spent the night playing Resident Evil.

I've not got high hopes for Too Human, if only because I can still remember the tech demos for it when it was GameCube exclusive back in 2000. Any game in development for that long tends to get me a bit worried.
Edit: Apparently it was originally going to be on the PlayStation and started doing the rounds at trade shows in 1999. That's almost 10 years in development! This post has been edited by maian: Aug 18 2008, 09:23 PM |

QUOTE (maian @ Aug 18 2008, 10:24 PM) I was thinking about that. I imagine my grandchildren will still be waiting for that to be released. No they won't. I'm afraid the type of game Duke Nukem is isn't what people want to play anymore. We're not 11 anymore, and it's not 1996 either. It'll never come out, because nobody would buy it. Literally, nobody. They've either had it killed for them looong ago by the constant re-starts and delays, or ignoring that they won't buy it because it'll be a very by-the-numbers shooter and the only thing to seperate it from anything else on the market is that it'll look like it was made 7 years ago and you'll keep hearing "I'm here to kick ass and chew gum, and I'm all out of gum" on a constant loop in the background. |

Oh, I have very little doubt that it wouldn't be a disaster, I just wish they'd release it so that it could end all the speculation and they could spend a decade or two working on another project.
Though, if they made it reeeeeally fucking funny, I think that could redeem it. If Serious Sam games have taught me anything, it's that by rote gameplay can be made up for by plenty of silly jokes and stupid amounts of ammo. This post has been edited by maian: Aug 18 2008, 09:33 PM |

The joke's gone on too long, they can't ever release it now.
Can you imagine what reviews would be like? They'd go on about how long it took to make, and the end result being shit. It's Daikatana but worse. |

But would canceling it be worse? They'd be an absolute laughing stock (no change there, then, boom boom) and they'd never be taken seriously again. At least if they released it and it was slated they could walk away from it all with a completed game and say ''Hey, at least we finished the damn thing''.
I think they will release it one day, probably. Then again, I've been thinking that for the better part of a decade, so what do I know? |

QUOTE (GundamGuy_UK @ Aug 18 2008, 09:23 PM) I almost said something, but held off. Took a little inspiration from the idea though and checked out the Knights of the Old Republic 2 Restoration Project site to see if anything is actually happening. Three years in development and it's still not here, though it does seem that work is still being done so it will happen. Don't know if anyone is half as into KOTOR as I am, having played both games at least six times each, but the prospect of finding out what was going on with the HK-50 droids, deleted scenes and quests with full voice-overs and a more polished and complete ending is pretty exciting. I just hope it comes out this year... |

The man raises a good point
Goes with what I've said in the past. There's nothing wrong with good old blue-skies family-friendly games that anyone can enjoy. |

Speaking of Duke Nukem, I was happy to discover that Duke Nukem 3D is going to be arriving on Xbox Live Arcade later this year. Also keeping an eye out for Doom 2, Portal: Still Alive (woo!) and Samurai Shodown.
