12gb of downloading finished yesterday so tonight I've been able to spend my shift at work playing DC. I've gone with a magic, double weapon toting acrobatic demon mentored by Circe.

Looking kewl dude, didn't take you for a villain though!
Was a WoW addict for a while but moved on to LOTRO for about a year, then just got tired of it all for exactly those reasons. The more I read about DC the more I like so I think I'll check it out this month. LOTRO was great, I got out before it went free to play though so not sure what it was like after that. I'm hoping to play the old republic when it's out, if my PC can run it |

From what I gather I can make upwards of eight characters across the various servers so I'm going to try a few things. There was some downtime for the European server I was on last night so I ended up making a secondary hero character on the US servers. I've managed to make quite a convincing JC Denton clone with rifle and gadget skills as well as super speed.
I was going to make Omega Bob Ross but alas the name was too long. |

The IT man has already played Shogun 2 Total War.
I kind of hate him for it, but also want to maybe stroke his face for it aswell. Am I strange? |

Deathclaws! Deathclaws! Deathclaws! I've found the Gauss rifle is pretty effective against deathclaws. It's powerful and has a sight so you can snipe at them. Plus I have Veronica and Rex with me so if deathclaws do attack I can hide behind them and take potshots. |

Yeah, it's pretty good as far as FPS games set in the real world go. You get a lot of choice in weapon types, and the destructible environments make it feel much less linear (though it still isn't exactly open by any means). The banter between characters is actually quite funny too and the storyline isn't a massive mess like CoD. Its definitely worth a look

Its definitely worth a look If I can somehow bring myself to select single player instead of multiplayer next time I fire it up I'll give it a whirl. I've got Tomb Raider Underworld to finish and Bayonetta to start but I just simply have the Battlefield cravings when I get home from work! |

To be honest I was the same. I only finished the SP after I'd unlocked everything for the classes I like (Engineer being a firm favourite). Do you have a class/map you like playing?

I bought Super Scribblenauts today - has anyone played it? Me! It's good fun. I've found the Gauss rifle is pretty effective against deathclaws. It's powerful and has a sight so you can snipe at them. Plus I have Veronica and Rex with me so if deathclaws do attack I can hide behind them and take potshots. I haven't come across that yet. I'll keep an eye out for it. |

I tend to see what sort of mood I'm in, as sometimes I like getting stuck in with the assault troop but then I do enjoy blowing the sh1t out of a tank or two with the engineer! I never use the medic. Not too fussed about which map, although I have got the Vietnam expansion which is lots of fun |

I think I shall rent an xbox game on the way home to cheer myself up after ruining my pc.
any suggestions? I'm in the mood for either a spot of Role Playing (not JRPG blurgh) or something of a smarter shooter then Black Ops (which I already have) Maybe Medal of Hon(u)or? I watched my sisters other half play it, and it seems less of a spray fest. |

@Phantom: Again because of the destructible environments and the satisfaction you get from all the points racked up by blowing up tanks and especially blowing helicopters out of the sky; I love engineer. Plus racking up a ton of points by repairing tanks is good too.
I don't play medic either, it's a bastard class though, they can heal, revive and get scopes and therefore huge range on their LMG's. It's the only class I feel is a bit unbalanced. This post has been edited by monkeyman: Feb 3 2011, 04:44 PM |
