Been wondering around Vegas again lately, doing most of the side quests before I even go into Vegas itself. I'm already level 23 and I've not even been to Freeside yet.

I love how expansive it is. I've played through four times and on every one I had a different set of weapons and found enough fresh quests to make it feel quite different each time.
Gun toting anarchist, energy weapon nut NCR supporter, psychotic melee servant of Caesar and money hungry gambler. Safe to say I've played it to death. |

I'm planning to wait for all the DLC to come out for New Vegas and the release of the inevitable GOTY edition before looking at it again. The Bethesda blog suggests that one DLC a month should be arriving from this month onwards.
Hopefully all the bugs will be fixed by this time as well (assuming the DLC doesn't create new ones) Video trailer thingy for next DLC is here. |

Last Fallout post for a while. What do you get if you cross Boone with a cazador?
![]() Definitely the most spectacular glitch I've seen happen, it was quite a sight in motion. |

^ Freaky (but funny!).
Played a whole chunk of Portal 2 yesterday, and now at the older Aperture areas after Wheatley went mental and sent me down there. Enjoying it a fair bit. Some of the flying bits are spectacular. Gonna get back into New Vegas this weekend, I sort of half abandoned it for Mass Effect 2. |

Played a few hours of LA Noire over the weekend.
It pretty. The facial movements and expressions are quite amazing. The detective parts of the game seem to work nicely as well. I still dislike the controls, although they have been improved. I still ended up running into walls and doorways during chases though. |

What's so bad about the controls? Are they different from the standard Red Dead/GTA style?
Has anyone played The Witcher? I'm looking for a new rpg and it seems interesting. |

I played it for a bit. It's okay, but I would agree with Yahtzee's assessment of it as "A MMORPG without the MMO element". Plus it had some bloody awful loading times which happen every single time you change location. Enter a hut? Loading screen. Leave the hut? Loading screen Every. Single. Time.

Not sounding so great there, especially as MMOs tend to bore the life out of me. Did you play the original or enhanced version? I'm not too fussed about the gameplay if the plot is strong, provided of course the gameplay isn't truly terrible.

What's so bad about the controls? Are they different from the standard Red Dead/GTA style? Oh they're not terrible or anything, it's more just an issue that I have with the Euphoria engine and turning corners with it. The controls aren't that much different to GTA/Red Dead (though I didn't play many shooting bits in the parts I played) so it's mostly pretty ok. I did enjoy what I played a lot and I can't praise the look and atmosphere of the game enough. I'm probably going to pre-order it today. I also felt like I had only scratched the surface of the main plot in the 2 hours I played, definitely a good sign. Reviews from the US have all been glowing as well. |

I'm trying to keep my eyes and ears closed to too much detail right now. Can't wait for it to arrive, this weekend is going to be pretty damned good; Penn and Teller on Friday, night out on Saturday then another two whole days to get stuck into the Noire. Can't wait.

Due to now finishing my University course I am free for the summer so in between looking for a part time job I am free to game! Re-bought Fallout 3 for £7.99 and I am fully intending upon purchasing L.A. Noire tomorrow.
This summer will be a good one! |

Did anyone ever play Castlevania: Lord of shadows? It's ruddy good.
Also, I found out Suda51 (of Killer 7 fame) and Kojima are collaborating on a project. I don't know what it is but they can have all my money. All of it. |
