Heh, he certainly does.
I'll try and get a pic of my character tomorrow. I think I've managed to approximate my own face to some extent. And for the first time ever in a game I'm happy with the beard selection. A soul patch right on through to aged hermit, the whole spectrum of beard is available. |

I can assure you it was entirely unintentional. though I do now find myself wishing that one of the Dragon shouts is "Spartans!" |

THOOM! It was quite satisfying hitting RB for the first time for sure.
Skyrim for 360 looks better uninstalled according to this. However, I'd heard about this yesterday whilst reading to kill my night shift and tested it this morning when I got home and saw no difference between installed textures and uninstalled textures. I've certainly seen some muddy blurry textures and some harsh sharp edges on walls from time to time but it made no difference either way for me. |

Tell a lie, now I'm back in front of the game it would appear that moving to the next room from my save file without having the game installed has seriously boosted the texture quality on a bunch of stuff. I now await this patch eagerly.

I can understand some things not getting caught by QA, but how on earth does that slip by?
Glad to read the PS3 version is pretty much on the same level as the 360 version, unlike Fallout 3 Edit: To those playing: have you explored many ruins/caves? Do they feel unique, as Bethesda said they worked to make each one unique and not feel poorly copy+pasted like ones in Oblivion This post has been edited by monkeyman: Nov 12 2011, 08:57 AM |

I spent bloody ages trying to find the Golden Claw. Y'know why? To my eyes, Arvel had disappeared. I thought he ran off (I was too busy fighting the spider). Killed the spider, no Arvel Body. Okay, I look for Arvel...
Where was he? Underneath the fucking spider. It took a while to get my crosshair on to him too, since it kept searching the spider. Steve's Skyrim silliness, part one, there. This post has been edited by Everlong: Nov 12 2011, 11:57 AM |

Just as a brief aside from all the Skyrim, these guys are currently playing all 21 Zelda games in a non-stop marathon to raise money for GamesAid. Watch, donate!

Skyrim which ran fine yesterday seems to be crashing a lot today.

Bugger me. Just fought a hagraven... Yeah. They're nasty. Managed to beat it first time then stepped on a bear trap before I healed and have now gone back to my last save 30 minutes ago. Annoying. Still loving it though, and the few dungeons and caves I've been to are pretty distinctive so far. |

And that's why I like to play RPGs on the PC- single button quicksave. Ooh, looks a bit dark and spooky, hit F5. Ooh, he looks tough. F5. Man, this road is REALLY long. F5. |

I've never played any of the Elder Scrolls games. Is it basically medieval/fantasy Fallout? If so I may very well get it/them. Also would it be worth playing Oblivion first?

Bugger me. Just fought a hagraven... I found a couple of them at the top of this really beautiful old ruin with a big waterfall called Bard's Leap at the top of it. They royally thrashed me, so I've given up on them for now (but if you go there, jump off Bard's Leap...) I've never played any of the Elder Scrolls games. Is it basically medieval/fantasy Fallout? If so I may very well get it/them. Also would it be worth playing Oblivion first? Yes, it's basically Fallout 3 in Middle Earth. I'd also never played one, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything other than perhaps the occasional reference. It's set over two hundred years after Oblivion and on a different continent, so I'd imagine any links are tenuous. I'll probably pick up Oblivion's GOTY edition at some point. I really should keep away from this thread. Trying very hard to resist Skyrim - I have neither the cash nor time spare, byt everything I read makes it more difficult. Curse you all!
