Here's an odd tip for Guitar Hero players. I decided to try out the hyperspeed cheat on expert today, which doesn't speed the song up, but spaces all the notes further and makes them fly towards you much faster so you get far less warning that they're coming... and mysteriously it actually seems to make some of the fast songs easier despite the fact that it should be precisely the opposite. Unlike the other cheats it doesn't penalise you for using it in career mode either. Previously my high score on Stricken by Disturbed was about 310K, I tried it on hyperspeed level 3 and first go got almost 380K. I also beat my previous score on TTFAF by about 40K too.

QUOTE (NiteFall @ Jul 2 2008, 06:34 PM) I mean the original PS1 game for download on PSN, which is apparently in the works but nothing has shown up about it. In fact, since hearing of it, all PSN updates seem to have been deliberately shit. Sometimes I really hate Sony... |

Todays being no exception.....especially annoying since I was hoping for MGS1, or a new Echochrome demo (it's out tomorrow and I highly recommend it).
Also the Yank store has such a cool number of games on it, if I wasn't worried about how it might affect my PSP/future downloads I'd change it so I could DL fromt he American store. |

Sony really are twats when it comes to handling their fanbase. They had some really good weeks in May, and now it seems we have to pay for it with shit.
I suppose it's better than when they just didn't update at all. But only a little. |

Psychonauts is completely mental. It makes Day of the Tentacle look restrained and po-faced. Tim Schaeffer is not a man you could claim to be short on "wacky" ideas.
It's a lot of fun but a bit frustrating at times. I am finding myself referring back to Gamefaqs a fair bit, I think I'm getting a lot less patient with games these days. Also, is Grim Fandango as wonderful as I've been told? It was one of the only adventure games from that era that I never played. |

I couldn't get past a certain point in my copy, it was all broken and made me sad.
Will have to try and get it on my laptop sometime. |

Was it in the elevator in Year 2?
You need the patch for that to work, it's a problem with your computer being too fast for the puzzle to work properly. I was playing Grim Fandango a few days ago, in fact. It's so immersive and detailed, I adore it. This post has been edited by GundamGuy_UK: Jul 3 2008, 08:48 PM |

You can get a handy little thing called the Grim Launcher, which allows you to copy all the data off the CDs and run the game off the handdrive, all-but eliminating loading times between screens (and especially when cutscenes load), and no need to keep switching discs.
Get it here |

I have added it to my list of games I need to play, which is getting pretty lengthy. |

It should be near the top of that last. Has some of the wittiest dialog in any game.

It's probably about time to replay it for me, too.
On another subject, has anyone noticed their local radio stations playing certain bands and songs more frequently after they've appeared in a Guitar Hero game? I swear it's been happening around here. You never/rarely used to hear, say, "Synchronicity II" on the radio, but now it's not uncommon. Same with Skid Row; they were absent from the local airwaves until Guitar Hero 80s came out. |
