I will never stop bashing FFXIII I'm afraid and given the fighting system is the same I rest assured that I will think FFXIII-2 stinks of poops when I inevitably get a play. So there!

Actually, in the week and a bit that my PC was broken I played a lot of Final Fantasy XIII and really got into it. Yes, it's a slow burner, but it really is rather good.

Is it as good a sequel as Final Fantasy X-2, though?

Well, you get away from those duckies with the plum sauce and I shall stop glaring!
You can't ever be disappointed with a red snapper. I don't know why, but it's always a victory when you catch one. Even if I end up with pockets full of them, I still feel like I accomplished something. They're not even that valuable, there's just something about them... They're worth enough for me to be happy when I catch one. It's strange though because I can go for ages without a single one, then I suddenly catch loads all in one go. Sonic CD is coming to XBLA, iOS, PSN, Android, and Windows Phone 7 pretty much any day now.
I have no idea which soundtrack we'll be getting, but in an ideal world it would include both. Apparently it features in Sonic Generations, and Sonic 4 Episode II has Metal Sonic as the baddie, so they're obviously releasing it to get people interested. I'm really pleased now, because pretty much all the good Sonic games are out on XBLA now. I hope Sonic Adventure 2 comes out too, because it was the last good 3D Sonic until very recently. I hope Sonic R comes out, too. It's a delightful game. You've got to keep the dream alive. This post has been edited by GundamGuy_UK: Dec 8 2011, 11:34 PM |

It's different.
It plays like Sonic 1, but the level design is crazy and the time-travelling mechanic is interesting. Check it out This post has been edited by GundamGuy_UK: Dec 9 2011, 09:55 PM |

They're both good, I think. Some levels are better with the Japanese one, others with the American one.
"Sonic Boom" is so much better than that weird rap that's on one of them... |

I actually looked up the lyrics to that rap and found the lines "leather and lace, let's get money, what do you get? FAT CHEQUES!". It might be nonsensical but I love it, the pace feels right where the American Believe In Yourself is a bit limp. Give me silly rap and a wailing Japanese songstress any day.
I'm sure we've done the rounds on this topic before at some point have we not? Not complaining or anything, just got a vague memory of possibly coming off pissy last time it was on the table. Y'know, 'cause I've never been pissy otherwise or anything... |

Y'know, 'cause I've never been pissy otherwise or anything... I don't think you were pissy; you and I were talking about the wonders of 90s SEGA music. Daytona, OutRun 2, Sonic R etc. Unless you mean comparing the two Sonic CD soundtracks, in which case I don't remember. I really like them both, rap and all, perhaps because I didn't own it as a kid and so have no nostalgia bias. Apparently the XBLA version will have both, and I'll be playing with both. They each have some really good music. Oh, did I ever mention how incredibly similar Sonic Adventure's invincibility theme is to that music? You can clearly hear "Do-Do Sonic Warrior" in there.
