I really tried to like ME, but I just couldn't get into it the two times I've tried. I will give it another go though, because I know how highly regarded it is as a series. I don't know what it is about it that I don't get on with. Anyone else struggle getting going with it initially, or is it just me?

The combat in the first game is fairly clunky to be honest, and I do remember having to push myself a few times (especially after ME2) but once the story had it's claws in me, and I got better at the fights, it got a lot better.

I couldn't find a copy of the first ME anywhere, so I guess I'll just give in and start with 2. The guy at the game shop gave me a look of utter disdain when I asked for it. "Well, everyone scooped up all the copies we had when ME3 came out. You know, a week ago?". Lame. You have to wait so you can start with 1 or it just won't be the same. Why do so many dicks work in video game stores? I had one with a really shitty attitude sell me my ps3. He even had GANGSTER tattooed on his arm in massive letters. Working in a video game store, very gangster. I really tried to like ME, but I just couldn't get into it the two times I've tried. I will give it another go though, because I know how highly regarded it is as a series. I don't know what it is about it that I don't get on with. Anyone else struggle getting going with it initially, or is it just me? I only got into it on my third go. The first two times I only ever made it to the citadel. I think once you get going with the missions and side quests you start to get into it. edit: Everybody shut up about ME3, anyway. I still have five games on my shelf waiting for me to play, including Portal2, LA Noire and Skyrim. I still have to buy Uncharted3 and Arkham City amongst others, it's going to be a while before I get to board the Normandy again. This post has been edited by logger: Mar 12 2012, 10:46 AM |

I do love the little touches.
Anyone else seen the guy who's spent three games looking for a refund? Turns out it's for a toaster oven. |

Seriously BioWare? While most of the big decisions are reasonable, making me choose between curing the Genophage, thus securing the services of the Krogan, the galaxy's best heavy infantry led by Wrex, my former team-mate, friend and general galactic-level badass or not doing so, thus securing the services of the weak, slightly pathetic Salarians, led by the Dalatrass, who spends all her time telling me I'm a naive idiot and insulting me? No choice at all really.

^ Yep that was an easy one for me too. Don't get me wrong, under different circumstances I'm sure that a load of Salarian commandos would be the better choice. But against building sized mechs with a decentralised command structure and no supply lines to weaken? Useless. |

[best 'The Mask' impersonation]:
It's PS3 time! P-S-Three? Cuz I gottaaaaa! [/impersonation] Okay, see, now, that didn't really work even half as well as it did in my head, if at all. Mmm. In other more sensible news, would any of you UK-based XBox360 types here be remotely interested in a nearly-new Force Feedback steering wheel gubbins? Or even locally interested? All thoroughly kosher, I promise you. PM me if so. Ta. |

I avoided most of that just in case. But I do love the weight system, it's god to have more flexibility. How do people feel about putting a Spaced Out ME3 Squad together sometime? I've not tried Multiplayer yet. I'd be up for some multiplayer, probably going to have a first look at it later this week. Will be a while until I tear myself away from the main story though, as it's quite the experience of pure awesome. |

I'm a Vanguard, which this Shepherd has been from the beginning. It's hardly the best class, being very middling at everything, but I felt I should keep it consistent.
I'll probably mix things up a bit on the (inevitable) next playthrough. |

GAME in deep shit
Possible huge clearance sale approaching, or Gamestop will use this as a platform to move into the UK big time. This post has been edited by GundamGuy_UK: Mar 12 2012, 10:24 PM |
