I did! I made annoying advert banners for it for Xbox, which also meant I knew the release date before it was announced like a right special person. Shame I'm not into Halo at all...

But you clearly have a super awesome job.

In other news, has anyone tried the Endless Space alpha on Steam?

Elder Scrolls MMO Elder Scrolls Online announced.

Set all across Tamriel it seems. Blimey. On PC and Mac next year.

Yawn.
Give it a very short window before it goes F2P. Most things that people like about Elder Scrolls won't be present in an MMO :/

Yeah as much as I like the Elder Scrolls, filling it with a bunch of dickheads strikes me as a bad idea.
I'd have been much happier if it allowed say up to four player co-op.

I think it'll work with hub towns where you see online players, and then the field will just be your party. Given that most of TES boils down to "collect ten XXX", "follow XXX to YYY", "kill XXX" and so on, it should translate well.

What are they doing with the multiplayer? It's not a game I'll ever play so I've read nothing about it. It's the first non-bungie developed Halo game right?

They're upping the base run speed and giving everyone sprint alongside another armour ability. It's going to necessitate weapons that kill quicker as people will be able to slip around corners and run away too easily otherwise and that's only going to bring the gameplay closer to the incredibly dull "round a corner, kill/get killed" gameplay of COD. They're also adding weapon loadouts which I can see resulting in a lot of sniper and shotgun users, again making for a lot of very dull samey matches.
I'm sure it'll be a halfway house between the two styles of play and will feature some of what I like about Halo (hell, they can't ditch vehicles completely) but that's not something I'm all that interested in adjusting to or paying for.

I would imagine Reach will stay as the main multiplayer choice if people don't like it. Plenty of people still play 3 online, still.

I'm the opposite to you, I'm only interested in Halo 4 for the story. Don't get me wrong, I don't think the story is amazing. I just think it's a solid sci-fi shooter series, and having a continuity and universe to it is all the better for it.

Just a thought... does anybody know if you can use a conventional MIDI keyboard controller with Band Hero? The drums' detachable control box gizmo has both MIDI In/Out ports, but I wasn't sure if it was merely as simple as that, or whether one would need additional add-ons...?

Not a clue to be honest and I've got the game! The raging geek in me is screaming RTFM btw. tongue.gif

@Silky - Looking at that game, it's specs will push my laptop to it's limit so I wont be forking out. Having fun with it I assume?

Had a nice long go on Metroid Prime, and got the missiles, morph ball, and charge beam. My wrist is killing me now, though.

I was going to edit this into that other post but it timed out as I was doing it so excuse my typically self interested posting if you can.
I wrote a huge blog/article/thing in an attempt to put down my thoughts on Square Enix once and for all so as I never feel the urge to go over the same arguments again. At almost 4000 words it's probably got more to it than my entire A-level course work combined. Think of that admittance as a sorry resignation rather than a proud boast.
Anyhoo, it's here if you're interested. Curious to hear any thoughts you guys might have if you do check it out, be it critique of content or otherwise.

I am indeed. I don't usually go for spacey games though. At least not since Alpha Centari. It's still only in alpha stage but already fun.
