I bought the Star Wars Trilogy for when I go and see my girlfriend in a couple of weeks, and I'm annoyed that her set's better than mine (has both cuts of the films). At least mine has a nicer box...

Also bought seasons 1 and 2 of Deep Space Nine, because my pirated discs really are unwatchable.

Poultrygeist is finally out on DVD, so naturally I bought it as soon as finding out.

Damn you, Big Lots! Stop getting in interesting shipments! The rest of your stuff is chintzy crap -- Jeff Foxworthy beef jerky, anyone? -- but I keep coming back for the cheap DVDs.

This time they had a pallet full of obscure HBO documentaries and other assorted HBO Video releases.

For $3 each, I took a chance on the Empire Falls miniseries, and series three of Cracker. The latter I'm particularly curious about; it looks good, but I've not seen it before. For three bucks, though...

Top choice there, sir.
Yesterday I popped into Zavvi on my lunch (mistake!) and finally got the Hot Fuzz double disc (4).
Then I began the onslaught of Christmas fillums by purchasing The Santa Claus Movie, simultaneously one of the worst and most brilliant Christmas films ever.

In the next few days I should be recieving some more dubious/classic films - Love Actually, Muppet Christmas Carol and a 3 pack with Box of Delights, The BBC Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe and another prog I can't remember the name of.

Aye. I've been waiting for the price to come down low enough for ages - I never pay full whack for DVDs any more, and 13 seemed acceptable. smile.gif

Yup, it's ridiculous but the holiday season wouldn't be the same without it smile.gif
