Hmm, which Decemberists album to include? It's a tough choice. I've just started listening to them again. Red Right Ankle is currently my favourite song. I seem to have had a bit of an indie resurgence in my musical tastes. I've started listening to Andrew Bird, Joanna Newsom, Okkervil River and Sufjan Stevens quite a lot recently. I think Andrew Bird & The Mysterious Production of Eggs would be my album of the decade. |

Hmmm. Do I include Electric Six on the basis that their album features two of the best singles of the decade.

Rolling Stone's top 100 of the decade.
Not a bad list, a fair few of my potential list are on there.. |

Kid A in the top three again? Fuck's sake. And #1 is hardly justified if you ask me. |

Apart from what Ade says, good list I think. Few bad choices, but overall a good summation of the decade for my money.

Daft Punk's Discovery, The Killers' Hot Fuss, Franz Ferdinand's Franz Ferdinand, Kanye West's Graduation and not sure if it's able to be categorised as naughty but Rage Against the Machine's Rage Against the Machine is pretty sweet too.
Nice thread - lots of good suggestions. No big Will Young supporters I see(?) -m0r |

'Discovery' has certainly been factoring into my shortlisting on and off, although whether it makes my final twenty remains to be seen. My current selection is presently far less mainstream than I expected it to be.

I've started referring to the wiki lists, and I've realised I could make a top 20 out of both 2001 and 2002 alone. I might even make these lists if I get bored.
As it stands I have a list of 108 Albums. A list which will be hard to cut down (bar a few I already know are definitely my top 5) Going to make the final list this week or next, you want them after new year don't you? |

I've cut that down to 50ish and have a provisional top 20, huzzah!

Okay peeps, it's the new decade, and I am now officially requesting your voting slips - up to and including midnight on 29th January. I will be posting the results over the weekend of 30th/31st January. Please send me your top twenty album choices (via PM, don't post them in the thread please) in order of preference (ie: your absolute favourite first).
As before, any supporting comments to accompany your chosen albums will be most welcome. Or if you prefer, feel free to highlight any specific lyrical couplets that caught your attention. Thank you! |

2004 is proving an extremely strong year, I've found.
Which reminds me, if everyone could include as part of their nominations an indication of each album's respective year of release, it would make my job marginally easier. Thank you! |

As for years, I think my whole list comes from 2001-2004! Might be an 05 in there somewhere. |

My list is complete, shocker! It's all 2000-2005 (all yeared up for ya Ade!) too, though a 2009 album nearly got in it.
All that is left is to write Comments a line or 2 long on each. |

My choices span the decade. No 2008, though. I still need to lose 3 and then put the rest in order.

What was the rule on remix albums?
... I'm thinking about Ian Brown's Remix of the Spheres. |
