I thought that sounded optimistic when I read it earlier (and surprising that the BBC would want to show two series of the same show in the same year).
Also, production of the next 14 episodes of Doctor Who is about to get underway, which will tie up Moffat for while (usually a nine month block). |

More than 14 this time, according to Moffat. It seems there will only be a handful of Doctor Who episodes at the end of the year, including a Christmas Special, but 2013 is going to be full of Doctor Who. They'll start filming in about March then carry on into Summer 2013 apparently!
Shame Sherlock won't be this year then, I guess Moffat meant they'll start filming it later this year. Maybe Gatiss will oversee Sherlock while Moffat makes Who. |

I'm quite happy with it not coming back until next year as it is something to look forward to and we don't end up suffering Sherlock overload.
I watched the last part again on BBC Three this evening and it didn’t lose any of its potency the second time around. Great stuff! |

Ouch.
I'm not too keen on what they've done with Watson (her reaction to the corpse seems a bit strange for a surgeon, and I read somewhere that she's 'disgraced', which doesn't seem very Watson-like), but I quite like the look of Johnny Lee Miller as Holmes. The portrayal by JLM is different clearly. A bit more bumbling and less icicle - actually quite good and I would see it. The rest? A 'sober companion'? Failed surgeon? Oh deary fucking me.
JLM should be in proper Sherlock. Not this numpty business. |

So what do we think of the words released as clues to inform us what the new series will focus on?
If you missed them, they were- Rat, Wedding, Bow (as in taking a bow, not violin bow  ) I dunno what others think, but these were my thoughts when I first heard them Rat- there's a reference to a giant rat in one of the stories, only a small one, but it's something. Also could refer to Moriarty, meaning that it could be the next one after the Final Problem. Wedding- of Watson? I mean, he is married in the books, and he's not married yet. And bookwise, his wife dies during Holmes's extended leave of absence between the Final Problem and the Empty House... Hmm...there are a few short stories involving weddings. I'm not too hot on the novels, I only have two of them, and I'm halfway through the first of the two. Bow- Well, there's a whole book of short stories called "His Last Bow", culminating in "His Last Bow: The War Service of Sherlock Holmes". I dunno how this'll link in, if at all...anyway, it's based on the eve of the First World War...I won't say any more, but it's a possibility. But it may not be this story- it may be a story from the book "His Last Bow". Maybe it's me just being hopeful- I don't want it to end! I'm so nerdy, I haven't looked into things this much since pre-Deathly Hallows... |
