Todd VanDerWeff, The TV Editor for the AV Club, has been offering up some thoughts (and retweeting those of others) on this news on Twitter, in particular pointing out that this isn't a cancellation, and that it may not adversely affect the chances of a fourth season as much as it would seem. Here's the highlights:
QUOTE @thefutoncritic: For those freaking about the COMMUNITY hiatus, we've been assured all 22 episodes will be shot/air this season. TVOTI: Perhaps I seem too glib, but I continue to think Community's chances of a fourth season are functionally the same as they were an hour ago. TVOTI: If Community is renewed, it will have NOTHING TO DO WITH RATINGS. That was as true an hour ago as it is now. TVOTI: I still think Community gets season 4 for three reasons: 1.) Nothing else. 2.) Syndication. 3.) NBC likes critical goodwill. TVOTI: And if it doesn't, that's fine too. You've still got over half a season you haven't even seen yet. TVOTI: So in summation: 1.) Not canceled. 2.) Chances of renewal basically the same. 3.) Even if canceled, you got three seasons of TV you loved. TVOTI: Also, if Community's back in March, it should air straight through without repeats. That should (could? perhaps?) build ratings momentum. So, it's not the end of the world, even if it does feel a little like it. |

The Troy one is my favourite, largely because Troy's freakout over meeting Levar Burton is probably my favourite part of the whole series.
Incidentally, I think tonight's episode is a follow-up to their documentary format one, and I for one cannot wait. |

What a fantastic spot!
Great episode. I was moved by the Dean's plight. And are we going with Tritta or Broy? |

I like Tritta, both as a name and a concept.
I have to say that as much as I loved this episode, it did make me realise why the show will never have a big audience. I mean, I don't know of any other show that would take inspiration for an episode about Hearts of Darkness. At the same time, that's why I love it so much. Seeing Britta and Troy losing their shit, Jeff going Method and Annie seemingly turning into Dennis Hopper was hilarious, and this episode summed up why Jim Rash is one of the regular cast members now. He was awesome. However, Luis Guizman AND Jeff Garlin in a single episode? I don't know how the show can maintain its integrity with all this headline-grabbing stunt-casting. |

Then again, the popularity of the Big Bang Theory makes me question all that is good and right with humanity. |

The Big Bang Theory is required watching, in my book.
Planning to get the season one DVD of Community very soon (I'm not a nasty little pirate like the rest of you peeps!). |
