The Dean's well-thought out Monkey Hotel was lovely. And Chang can no go back to being a bit part figure of authority (sort of).

I didn't think this week's was as strong as the last, but still pretty good. The highlights for me were Donald Glover's Georgia accent, his delivery of the lines "Boutros Boutros Ghali" and "We all farted", Garrett repeatedly screaming "Crisis Alert!" and the funny/creepy use of Hello.

I really, really enjoyed this week's episode. All the jokes at the expense of Todd were great, particularly as the show dropped in little details about him that made him out to be a pretty decent guy, and I really liked his delivery of, "Your love is weird!" The Chang subplot was one of the best uses they have made of him in a while, and I really loved the way he built a conspiracy out of nothing. Some fine crazy coming from Ken Jeong.

Really great episode this week. As far as bottle episodes go it wasn't quite up there with the one where they are trying to find Annie's pen, but the different timelines were all fun, with the Rolled A One timeline being one of the funniest things the show has ever done.

Caught up with everything yesterday during one of my most enjoyable hangover's ever. The timelines episode was an absolute joy, especially after reading about how excited Dan Harmon was about doing one of them this season. It was up there with Modern Warfare and Dungeons and Dragons for me.

So far I've been a little underwhelmed this season, but the last episode really made up for it. One of my favourite eps ever

Rewatching Season 2 over the last few days (I had planned to make it a longer term endeavour but c'mon, it's Community; how could I possibly watch less than four episodes in a single sitting?) has confirmed that it is my preferred season of the show to date. Obviously there's not a huge pool to draw from in that regards, but I remember being a bit underwhelmed by some episodes on first viewing (such as the one with Stephen Tobolowsky) which have really grown in my estimation after a second. Meanwhile, episodes like the Documentary one, the My Dinner With Andre one, and the Clip Show are as good as, if not better than, the first time around. The first season is still great, but if I was pushed to draw a Top 10 episodes list, most of them would be from Season Two at this point.

I watched the episode with stupid Todd in again and this really made me laugh, "We had a name for people like you in prison. The mean clique."

^ That's a great line, and a terrific deliver by Michael K. Williams. That was a better use of him that the first time, I thought. His speech about all the different kinds of Legos was a particular highlight.
I enjoyed the Halloween special, but I thought it was a pretty sub-par episode overall. Admittedly it is competing against the last episode and the last Halloween episode, which are two of my absolute favourites, but I thought that the central concept wasn't especially strong, and whilst it was fun seeing how the characters depicted each other in their stories (Pierce's story, complete with Troy as Coolio, apparently, was great) in the end it wasn't ABBA and zombies. |
