Well, if the weather's nice we could have a big Spaced Out picnic in one of Edinburgh's many fine parks. Or maybe even a Spaced Out barbecue in our front garden. Although if we do that everyone will be jumped on by our mad dog.

So far I have seen Sammy J. I liked him.
We have tickets for Dr Buckles and I want to see The Penny Dreadfuls and possibly their solo shows - I have seen them every year since the first 'did' the Fringe so it is like tradition. Otherwise I am not too fussed this year, I am poor. I always forget you are an Edinburgh person, Sefi. We should Afternoon Tea sometime. |

I always forget you are an Edinburgh person, Sefi. We should Afternoon Tea sometime. That would be nice, missus. Or at least have some kind of all-comers meet as I haven't met Kei and Jennifer or Chris either ... or Nate! I am seeing Dr Buckles too. When you going? I've not booked the Pennies yet. The penny D's don't have a show together this year I've discovered. The ones in the book are some other imposters. Unless I've completely misunderstood. This saddens me but means I will have to see their individual shows for sure.
I think we are going to see Buckles on the Thursday. And yes, a meet must occur. This post has been edited by Atara: Aug 8 2011, 08:49 PM |

From the Twittersphere I gather they're disbanding for the timebeing; Humphrey's show's getting rave reviews though. |

Really? How annoying. Or maybe it is time. Thom Tuck is doing his own show too.
I'm going on the Saturday to see Dr Buckles, Atara. So we will have to share opinions here. |

I actually thought this was a new show by them - really, there will be some very disappointed people. It's a bit too similar. Humph doing WW2. I have to see this. I thought it was them too. Some Fringe thing on Twitter was tweeting warning that it was not, I had nearly bought tickets.

My Edinburgh plans have been somewhat scuppered by my failure to get a job here in Cambridge and thus fund the trip myself. My parents have offered to fund the trip, but I feel bad enough about how much they're having to pay for me to be able to go to uni in London, so I will have to delay my jaunt for another year. It had better still be there.

Did you not know, Edinburgh's going out of business on 29th August?
Seriously, shame you can't make it this year, but hope you can make it another year |

I am dreadfully jealous that you got to see Dr. Buckles. I really hope he comes back to do more gigs in NY.

The best shows I saw last week...
'Bring me the Head of Adam Riches' Possibly the most entertaining hour of comedy I've ever spent. Extraordinary stuff. 'The Beta Males: The Train Job' Refreshingly different sketch comedy and very difficult to pigeonhole. Funny boys framing sketches within an ingenious narrative might be my favourite thing ever. ‘The Gentlemen of Leisure present: The Death of the Novel’ I could use the description above, except add “with books!” ‘Peacock & Gamble Emergency Broadcast’ Glorious, hilarious, mayhem. ‘WitTank’ Always solidly entertaining, this might be their most ambitious, polished and funny hour so far. The production is perfect. Stand-up was particularly fine from Michael J Dolan, Thom Tuck, Tim Key and the marvellous Tony Law Loads more good stuff I could mention, but I’ll leave it there. I had a fantastic week. OH! David Reed and Colin Hoult – also amazing! And Sheeps were very good. I’ll stop now. If you're in London and want to come and see Adam Buxton for only £4.50 in Sept at Kings Place then call and ask to be put on the waiting list, we will almost certainly release some tickets nearer the time. |
