Now that I've finally figured out how to get Tom Brady to throw a pass, I've been spending way too much time with NFL 2K5.

If it helps teach you the ways of one of the pillars of American guy-ness, does it qualify as edutainment?

Picked up an interesting little game yesterday - Pilot Down

You play the pilot of a USAAF B-24 Liberator that has been shot down over enemy territory in a 3rd person RPG. Will have to give it a thorough testing later, but it's not bad what I've done so far.

(Now THERE's a job I'd like - testing games!! biggrin.gif )

I'm sure you'd just love playing the same part of a game over and over again, trying to reproduce a once per 3 hour bug that appears to have no obvious cause... cool.gif

I was just thinking about that today strangly enough.(I was playing Rainbow Six 3 at the time)

Do you have to completly re-write a game to fix a bug? If so , I can see how that would be really dull.

It's all part of the process! I'd do it if the job was there.

Erm, yes, we have to scrap the entire code base and start from scratch every time a tester reports something like "text incorrectly aligned in frontend menu". tongue.gif

Quake IV. It's like doom3. but slightly less dark. And you can have your flashlight active when you hold certain guns.

Currently playing Pilot Down for the PS2 - hard as shit!!

I'm only onto the third level, which is hard as buggery because you have to continually sneak past German soldiers, have a limited amount of ammunition at a time, can only carry so much, and generally get the shit blown out of you in no seconds flat if you're not careful.

Mind you, if it was easy, it wouldn't be a challenge! rolleyes.gif

Should be getting DBZ 4 soon. Should be a good laugh. Also gettnign Sonic Gems collection. Get to play Sonic R again!

Just found out the new Tony Hawk game is out next Friday!!!! My thumbs are aching with anticipation. Hopefully the new bmx bits will work nicely, never really liked Matt Hoffman's BMX.

Ah, that was a good bug. Sorry for any inconvenience caused but we felt that the entire game simply would not be right if that text was off by even the smallest amount. You've got to stand up for your principles after all.

It's quite fun, but, as Nonus pointed out, it's immensely repetitive, and it does get somewhat annoying from time to time. Still, it ain't a bad job.

Medal of Honor: European Assault.

Loved the first two, and the fighting in this is great, but it seems a little samey and according to the back of the box, I'm 3/4 of the way through already! I hope that there are more missions than I think, because it'll suck if there aren't.
