I've always been a big fan of Smiley's character, so "'ave a banaaana" and "Oi oi! You lucky people!" have been quoted by me on a multitude of occasions. Also, my girlfriend loves doing the "Go there!" bit, which only serves to make it even funnier than I already find it. (She did it at our driver in Iran once, setting us up for a picture. He seemed sort of confuddled, understandably enough.) Also, there's... wait. No. DAMN IT! I knew I shouldn't have ranted about Iran. I forgot an important one. A really good one. Damn my eyes!
... sob Anyway, the cut "EAT ME!" bit with the broccoli has been extensively reused by yours truly, not to mention "warm-up music, warm-up music" and "I see it as a waste of Bako. The foil." even though I probably spelled that all wrong, seeing as I'm not familiar with British aluminium foil being from Norway and everything. There are more, to be sure, but I'll stop here. No! Wait! I just remembered that one earlier! "I want you to see me as a whole!" "I do!" "A whole, Brian, with a W." "Ohhh." So I guess that's it, then. PS: First post. woohoo. |

QUOTE (waitingforsimon @ Nov 19 2004, 03:47 PM) I said that just yesterday. Actually I was so frustrated with the person I said it about I added "What a prick." Too QUOTE (OverTilt @ Nov 19 2004, 06:30 PM) Hello! Love your avatar and signature! Plus, if I remember correctly you spelled Bako right... I used 'skip to the end' today actually, I was jabbering on to a girl in my class about complete crap, muttered 'skip to the end' and went back to work... I felt like a proper pillock. QUOTE (Marmalade B. Funkyblump @ Nov 19 2004, 09:41 PM) I felt like a proper pillock. You should consider yourself lucky. Quoting even slightly obscure English-speaking TV series is hard to get away with seamlessly when your native language isn't English. People look at you in a very strange fashion, but not compared to how they look at you after you explain your reference. I won't bother you with going into the specifics of a recent occurance but, suffice it to say, it was rather embarrasing. Oh, and another one I frequently use in everyday conversation with fellow initiates: "Yes! And I'd do it again, I tell you! I'd do it again in an instant! AH-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha! AH-" etc. I stop before the jumping out of the window for two reasons. It'd be expensive, and it'd hurt like hell. I do whip around, though, and feign the jump. EDIT: Oh, and thank you. I made that avvytar meself. Quite interesting what can happen when you stay up all night for no real reason. This post has been edited by OverTilt: Nov 19 2004, 08:42 PM |

Hehe, I wish I could make an avatar like that!
I forgot about the "I'd do it again in an instant" bit, classic! |

I felt like a proper pillock. I have to try really really hard NOT to use "Skip to the end" every day. My new supervisor at work has talking shit down to a fine art. I ask a simple yes/no type question and get a four-hour-long answer about nothing and still end up with no idea whether is was a "yes" or a "no". I'm an impatient type anyway and this guy just drives me NUTS And it is soooo soooooooo tempting to say "skip to the end" about 17 times a day every day!! Also, I've noticed lately that my bf and I use "I'll come back later if you change your........shoes" quite a lot Cheers AC |

Hello to anyone who's read everything up to here! Well done!
I don't think these have been put on here yet, but forgive me if i'm repeating. They are both from the same episode and are just amazingly funny. "That will mash up the engine block of a fiat uno, no problem." and "I'm a bit of yes man really. Are you? ....Yes." I also like the crosswod bit where Mike says "run" from the same episode. His intonation is hilarious. |

Brian : "Who is it?"
Tim: "Father Christmas" Just for Brian's face as he rushes to the door!! Another one that makes me giggle Tim: "I see it as a waste of Baco, the foil." |

QUOTE (kateykinz @ Oct 11 2004, 11:15 AM) Hmm doesn't he say "four earls are my limit"? Anyway! My faves are: "It's not about my tits any more Tim" "you should use those gel-filled eye masks; I find them very refreshing" "you've got some paint on you" "amonkey a monkey am onkey" "I wanted to be Elvis." "THAT'S STUPID HE's a MAN!" "Mike, I'm NOT your Dad. Now, here's your lunch and I'll be back to pick you up at five" "...been naughty..." Am v excited - have just ordered big train and I haven't seen it since it was shown on TV about 5 years ago! |

QUOTE (OverTilt @ Nov 24 2004, 02:42 PM) It's a good one, isn't it? If you use it in real life and no-one gets the reference, they'll just think you're charmingly eccentric (or can't count). And if they do, you know you've made a friend for life. Well...a friend for a bit anyway. Until you run out of Spaced quotes. |

I know it's not quoted well but it just popped into my head and I had to post it.
Daisy: What did you want to be when you were younger? Tim: Um, a monkey. Daisy: I wanted to be Elvis. Tim: That's stupid, he's a bloke! Textbook! |
