Teachers - New Series, Tuesday on C4 10PM! Options

A new series of Teachers starts on C4 this Tuesday. It may not have any of the original cast in it, but yay anyway, it still might be good.

Basically, Series 1 & 2 were great. Then Simon, Jenny and Rachel left by Series 3, and the leads were Brian and Kurt.
Well.
The ensemble were good for S1 & 2 , but speaking personally Brian and Kurt were not right for the leads for S3. The producers should have replaced the characters Simon, Jenny and Rachel (it WAS Rachel, wasn't it?).
The series now makes me think of depression within the teaching profession.
It doesn't make me laugh anymore.

I really liked Kurt and Brian as the leads - not as much as Simon and Susan (I think that's who you mean when you say Rachel) but they made a great comedy pair that got better as the series went on. They were slightly 2-dimensional, I grant you, but then Teachers was never very deep, even in the much vaunted first series.

Now, the entire show is being carried by Vicky Hall's (Lindsay) sterling acting but she's getting increasingly marginalised by the continuing 'fat but funny' characterisation.

totally agree with you (for a change, it would seem ) about this - she totally dragged the whole thing along with he last night... the rest of them didnt stand a chance!!
