Julian and Noel's banter was the best bit; polished enough to be genuinely funny, free-flowing enough to be fresh. Rich Fulcher was the real wild card, though. You got the sense that no-one really knew if he would stick to the script or whether he would just try and upstage everyone at any opportunity. He did unexpectedly rub mousse into Noel's hair while dressed as a tree and spit on him while dressed as a deeply spanish man. He's all kinds of crazy.

Yes. I'm gutted that Julian doesn't do solo stand up any more like Noel does. I wish they'd do some stand up together in the future - just like the intro they do for the stage show - which is basically all a stand up duo would do in a club.

It sounds like Fulcher's behaviour has escalated during the tour! There was a frisson of tension during our show when he kept messing up Noel's hair. Noel protests, but he should know that would just make him worse. I Think of Fulcher as a very naughty child in a rotund man's body, with the mouth of a cockney and the dance moves of a retard.

I think that's the point - I don't think it is scripted, so that's why it's more annoying.

I think they do add unplanned bits now and then, and if they're funny, they keep them in. For example, they weren't doing the hair mousse thing when I saw it a few weeks ago.
And Rich only spat on Noel's poncho. I'm thinking Noel really would be quite angry if he got him in the eye. (as he apparently did recently)
