I really wanted to go and see Bill Hicks on his last tour of England. He was playing the Royal Exchange in Manchester but my mum wouldn't let me go because the show started at midnight and I was only thirteen. Then he died. I will never forgive her.

why is it that female comedians have to always bang on about womens issues? am i the only one who thinks that is really boring!? i really want to see a female version of bill bailey or ross noble. so far 2 comediennes who i adore, thats excluding jessica, and thats Julia Davis (Nighty Night, Jam etc) and Linda Smith (does the comedy store alot with Paul Merton)

i think its a shame eddie izzard seem to have lost some of his edge, because his earlier suff (i.e live at the ambassitors, glorious etc) was top notch shit (umm...i hope that means it was good!).Had me in stiches the first time i watched them, and occasionaly now something will just tickle me and ill be giggling to myself!
But then to have to wait for so long for anything else to be realeased and what did we get??!! Hole! Sexie is a bit better than hole, but still doesnt touch his earlier gig's. "...After a while noah realised he was in fact punching a baboon!" |

Just to bump this thread back up again - I watched Tim Vine's DVD again recently and have to say I love the sheer sillyness and down right cheekyness of it. Some of the jokes are really really bad and I don't even now why I laugh at them. He's great on the guitar - some great songs on there.

I went along to the Hampstead Comedy club on Saturday night to see Noel Fielding, fantastic it was too. I was also very pleasantly surprised to see the line-up had been altered to include Rich Hall as well !! Marvellous. Top night.

bill hicks
bill hicks no one can touch him - he was intelligent, funny, true to himself and had balls the size of jupiter. i'll never forgive the letterman crew for cutting his set. as for living stand ups, how about Jimmy Carr? i laughed so hard i nearly did a wee |

I went for 'other'....he's been mentioned already but Dylan Moran gets my vote, I was in absolute stitches when I saw him
I have to agree with earlier comments about Eddie Izzard though, he used to be my favourite but he really does come out with the same stuff every time nowadays, which is a shame as imo he's a very funny man. I can see Peter Kay going the same way too. |
