Is anyone else going on the studio tour? I'm off next Saturday, really looking forward to it. I bought my step-mum tickets for her and Dad to go last week and they said it was very good. Looking forward to getting a butterbeer too, even if they are ridiculously expensive.

I was toying with the idea of going one day next week, but I don't think funds will allow (I'm also slightly concerned about going by myself and being the only middle-aged bloke in the tour!).

(I'm also slightly concerned about going by myself and being the only middle-aged bloke in the tour!). I'm sure there'll be all ages there, you should have gone last week and then there would have been at least three of you (along with my parents) It's been getting very good reviews, so I think if you did shell out for it you probably wouldn't be disappointed. |

It sounds really good, but I'm a poor student.
I'm reading through the books again. Seems like Harry has one major Quidditch-related mishap per book... |

Here's a... few... of the photos I took at the Potter tour - it was brilliant. I'd definitely recommend going to see it if you can. All the rest on my Facebook.
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Had to buy Snape's wand, I just couldn't resist it! And happily it was actually cheaper from the absolutely rip-off gift shop than it was online! They had really cheap looking robes for bloody £75, so I was definitely expecting to pay over the odds for the wand. ![]() |

It looks fantastic, especially Diagon Alley! I love Snape's wand. The dummies of the professors are freaky as hell though.

Haha, they didn't come off as creepy when I was there... maybe it's just in photos they look odd. Wand was just under £25. It's got a fair weight to it too, doesn't feel cheap and rubbish. Only grievance is the TM mark stamped just above the handle (not pictured) - it's in gold and not that small, so it's hardly subtle. Thinking of attempting to paint over it or something, but worried I'll end up making it look worse.

Which I thought was very cool and Steve is actually a bit more impressed with than his credits on the film. This post has been edited by ella: May 3 2012, 03:52 PM |

I think I read somewhere that the wands are ceramic to give them some weight and I agree, those trademarks are anything but subtle. I was in Forbidden Planet in Southampton yesterday and they seem to have started selling wands in cheaper packaging for £22.99 a pop, but the boxes don't look very good (they have a clear plastic windows, instead of the rather smart boxes the slightly more expensive £26.99 wands are in). |
