Peter Jackson has said that there will be no film of the Hobbit for at least four years and that it's going to take teams of lawyers to sort this one out as the film rights are owned by two companies.

With Jackson currently out of the running other contenders step into the fray

It's one of the better-known works produced by the duo of Arthur Rankin, Jr., and Jules Bass. Good voice casting, and some nice songs. They also produced the animated version of The Return of the King, whereas Ralph Bakshi was responsible for the animated The Lord of the Rings film. |
