From what I've read it's a reproach of British gangster movies from the last 15-20 years that have tried to make British crime as 'sexy' as Hollywood makes America's. But rather than make the bad guys and their crimes look cool it's going to be taken from the police's point of view and about the good guys. The hero will be a uniformed cop and will show that it's cool to be, and the plot is more about showing the gangsters' lifestyle being quite unglamourous.

I would guess it would be like a cross between The Professionals and The Sweeney!

There's a discussion about this project already raging (well, almost) in the existing Hot Fuzz thread. You'll find links to things Simon and Edgar have said about the film in the thread too.

As the SotD soundtrack was so brilliant, what musical gems would you like to hear on the Hot Fuzz soundtrack, baring in mind it's plot centres on the police and gangster crime?
My choices would be Celebrate The Bullit by The Selecter and Gangsters by The Specials. Can't go wrong with a bit of Ska. Wife Of Rolex |
