You should try downloading and installing the Cataclysm beta client. That fucker took forever.

Gah! Now it's downloading something else!

That should pretty much be the tagline for the Blizzard Downloader.

Another 1.6Gb! (and the downloader is barely managing 3Mb a minute!) I'm off to bed!

3Mb a minute? Have you turned peer-to-peer off? That speeds things up considerably, I was getting 1.6Mb a second earlier.

All installed and running and I hate what they have done to the talent trees, no choice and you have to spend proportionally more points on things you don't want/need to get the good stuff.

Also, why haven't they increased the size of the main bag, or given us more bank slots?! I have no room in my bank!

I quite like the new talents actually, feels like a lot of clutter has been removed. And no matter how bad they are they're still better than the ones from vanilla WoW which, looking back on them, were an absolute clusterfuck.

Gah, I really hate what they've done to hunters. I think I'm gonna stop playing, I can't really afford it anyway and it's getting in the way of work.

I think the thing I've found most annoying is that they are actively preventing you from spreading points between more than one tree until you have filled one of them, which means that the variations between characters is going to narrow (although the expanded Glyph sets may help to counter that to a point).

My main is a rogue, and although my points pre-4.0 were mainly in the combat tree, it was useful to have a couple of the basic talents from the other two. I'll be able to have them again by the time I get to level 85, but for now I've had to choose between improved Ambush and improved Eviscerate. Not happy about that, especially when I've had to waste several points in the combat tree just to get to the bottom of it.

And where has the un-blockable finishing move gone from the combat tree? I want it back!

I think the counter argument there is that dual-talent spec is now only 100g.

So, how's everyone liking Cataclysm so far then? Me, I think it's great. The revamped 1-60 zones are great fun, the Goblin starting quests are just fantastic, and I like that heroic dungeons actually take some skill now rather than being the loot dispenser they were in WotLK.

I like it, though I haven't played it much so far (I'm working on the theory that it's going to be another one to two years before the next expansion so there is no need to hurry!).

I've levelled my main to 81, mainly from exploring the new areas and herb gathering, but I have tried a few quests and have enjoyed what I have done.

I've also started a Worgen Warlock and levelled the character to 10, the start quests are really very good, and the phased game play is excellent - more of this please!

Oh there's LOTS of phasing. If you have either mining or herbalism as a profession prepare to be very annoyed at nodes phasing out just as you reach them, teasing you with their there-but-not-ness. >.<
