QUOTE (shinyelvenqueen @ Jan 12 2007, 11:08 PM) Well, turns out it was recancelled after season 6. They brought it back 4 years later and then kept it going, so we'll have to wait another four years to do an accurate comparison... |

I voted for The Simpsons - simply because there are more good seasons of the Simpsons (from about season 2 - 9) then there are Futurama (1-4) on account of Futurama being cancelled. Although I was initially annoyed about BBC and Channel 4 repeating the same old seasons again and again, I realise now that they were originally doing us a favour not showing the newer episodes. However, with The Simpsons in its prime, I can spend a good long while just thinking about bits from episodes and make myself laugh out loud, and that it's so well-known means you can easily reference jokes in individual episodes with the same ease of recognition as a mainstream movie. Of course, as mentioned before, more Futurama will tilt the balance further.

Evil question. Very evil.
They are both my joint favourite cartoons - both very funny, both super cool. It's hard to believe that The Simspons has been on for so long now. It's older than me! The episode Simpson and Delilah (where Homer buys the hair-growing drug) came out in the US on the day I was born, so I'll always have a special place in my heart for that one. So in the interest of keeping the balance even, I went for The Simpsons. |

Going for the Simpson is like sticking up for Genghis Khan because he was quite nice as a kid.
The utter crap that has made up the last 9 years or so has all but obliterated any goodwill it built up in the brilliant glory years. Futurama may go the same way, at least we'll get the chance to find out now. |
